Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale here is my Fully Restored , Numbers Matching , 1956 Bianchi Mendola. It is in excellent condition and my photos do not do it justice. Bianchi was one of many Italian motorcycle manufacturers after WWII to produce these small single cylinder cafe bikes. This model, the Mendola, was used to resurrect the company by son Giuseppe after his father Edoardo passed away. This is a 125cc four speed two stroke. I just brought this back from service at Moto Rivato. It starts on the first kick and runs very strong, as it always has during my ownership. Even though it is restored there are misc. small marks as would be expected for a machine of this vintage. It features a Dell'Orto carb like many from this era and supplies are plentiful and Dell'Orto is still in business today. The springer seat is indicative of the era as are the small toolboxes on the side of the frame, the velocity stack, the bicycle style pump near the chain guard and the Silentium "fishtail" style exhaust. All electrical works and even though a battery is not required a brand new battery has been sourced with matching green case to reliably run the headlight, taillamp and horn. Also included for the serious collector is the original Italian Motorcycle Registration which matches the original Euro license plate. Unfortunately I do not know the actual mileage since during that time period many motorcycles did not have odometers which, if even available from the manufacturer, were usually accessories that needed to be purchased and this model has neither a speedo or odometer. So I have listed the mileage as "1" because eBay requires a number in this box. I actually ride all my machines and intended to use this in the California Giro. But due to major surgery I will not be able to participate in the foreseeable future. I have much more invested in this than I could ever hope to recover but a new owner will surely appreciate the work involved. I will gladly offer to show this machine to anyone who wants to preview it in person. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and payment. I will help a shipper load the bike on a truck. $250 deposit to be made through paypal within 24 hours of the auction closing and full payment to be made within 7 days of auction closing. Payment only with cash in person or US Postal Money Order if it is to be shipped.
