Vehicle Detail

1998 BMW M3 Please don't hesitate to ask for more pictures! - estoril blue exterior, dove gray leather interior - 2-dr coupe - 5-spd manual transmission - 3.2 L I6 (286hp dyno claim by last owner, I believe it! 0-60mph 5.0 sec personal best and I'm no pro) - 158,334 miles - 27-31mpg average - new clutch w/ lightweight flywheel - K&N performance air intake - 5-point M3 wheels (not ugly 10-point split-spoke ones) - Borla exhaust - new radiator w/ thermostat and coolant (phosphate-free) - 5000K HID headlights, fog lights, and halo lights "angel eyes" (high beams standard) - rear spoiler w/ brake lights - Vader-style heated leather seats (8-point automatic adjustable) - sun roof - Sony Xplod head unit w/ KICKER amp and subwoofer - new front control arms installed - uses premium gas - I only use Mobil 1 synthetic 0W-40 Euro car formula motor oil I am the third owner of this car, bought in NC, drove for 2 years in NM and 1 year in VA. THIS IS A FAST, FUN CAR! I hate to sell my baby, but I now need something with 4 doors that can better accomodate a baby car seat. Ther car runs great but is not perfect cosmetically - see notes below/pictures. I know there are some things that need to be fixed so I am asking a price that is several hundred dollars BELOW the FAIR price from Kelly Blue Book. I really don't think that is too much to ask! THE BAD: Exterior: - collision damage - rear passenger corner - lens is broken but light and signal work, sheet metal is dented with some chipped paint, bumper is not damaged - collision damage - from passenger corner - headlamp is slightly off-center but not damaged, signal lens is broken but light works, hood is dented with paint chipped on edge - both fog light lens cracked, one bulb does not work (thanks rocky NM roads) - halo lights are moody, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't (I think they are just getting old) - dent in center of hood - dropped on a wrench head during radiator change - previous owner had the car lowered and he rolled the rear fenders to fit the wheels - did a bad job, you can see small waves in the sheet metal but no paint damage - minor nicks/dents that are normal for a used car - car hood shocks are worn, needs to be propped open Interior: - leather is torn on side bolster of driver seat - some stains on floor mats - 2 clips broken on sun visors (pivots are not damaged) - parking brake cable needs to be tightened - normal wear on upholstery Just an honest FYI: The car just recently was making a weird noise coming from the rear suspension area. The auto shop took it apart and said the driver-side rear wheel bearing is going bad. I am getting it fixed ASAP. RESERVE SET AT $4000 - PRICED TO SELL!!! Kelly Blue Book Value Fair: $4,895 The car is located in Woodbridge, VA. Buyer will be responsible for pick-up or arranging transport. On Jun-28-11 at 15:01:44 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: More pictures available! I created a blog with several pictures of the car posted: http://jredxcrunnerbmwebaypics.blogspot.com/2011/06/bmw-ebay-pictures.html Again please don't hesitate to ask if you want any specific pictures taken for you. On Jul-01-11 at 19:16:05 PDT, seller added the following information:07/01/11 UPDATE: The driver rear wheel bearing will not be replaced by the end of the auction. The best I can do is include it with the car. Please don't hesitate to e-mail me with any questions. The car WILL DRIVE without the bearing replacement (and without damaging any other parts), but expect some grinding road noise at low speeds. On Jul-04-11 at 06:26:09 PDT, seller added the following information:UPDATE 07/04/11: I took the car to the mechanic today to get the "check engine light" looked at. (1) The engine said "insufficient coolant temperature". The mechanic said the old thermometer probably doesn't like the new radiator, and as long as the thermostat is working then the car is fine. (2) "Bank 1, Sensor 1 O2 Sensor" - this is the O2 sensor that I just replaced when I installed a new rear exhaust manifold during the clutch replacement. The mechanic said that new O2 sensors require some time to adjust, so the code should go away on its own soon. (3) "Cylinder misfire 1, 4, 6". I did lots of research on-line and 9 times out of 10 it is just the $4 spark plugs. The car is due for a new set anyway, and last time I needed new ones the car did the same thing (check engine light - -multiple misfires) so I am not worried.
