1950 Ford F-1 This is a rock solid 1950 Ford F-1 that runs and drives excellent. It is dependable enough to be your daily driver if you choose. It is an all steel body without rust issues (frame and floors are very clean too). Althought very original, the truck has a few upgrades worth mentioning. The motor is a '53 Mercury flathead. It starts easy, runs cool, doesn't smoke or make any weird/unwanted noises etc. It has plenty of power and gets much better gas mileage than you would expect from a 60+ year old truck. '53 Mercury engines are without a doubt, favorites for flathead guys. I have a '40 Ford with a souped up flathead that really doesn't feel to have much more (if any) hp than the truck does. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volt and it has a brand new battery insuring easy starts. The transmission is the original 4 speed manual. Brakes are stock hydraulic and work as they should. All gauges, lights, turn signals, and horn are in good working order. It has a new gas tank, fuel pump and rebuilt carburetor. Glass is all in good shape and it has an excellent working heater (especially in the summer). It has nice and shiney driver quality paint. It has a few small chips in the paint but overall looks really good (see photos). It is not the original paint but is the original color. All 5 tires (side mount spare included) are near new 6.50-16 bias ply black walls. Wheels are original with original hubcaps. Enjoy it as is or lower it and turn it into a traditional hot rod without much effort or expense. It is as fun to drive as any hot rod I've owned and can still be used as an actual truck.
