Midstates Auto Sales is presenting in a no reserve auction, this 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray numbers matching car with factory 350 V-8, 4 speed manual transmission (we have photographed the ID and engine numbers for you to view), air conditioning, power steering and brakes. It also has the rare Winters foundry aluminum intake manifold used on Z-28's. Its marked with a snow flake and my apologies we did not picture it. It runs and drives, and has a solid, good running engine and transmission with a good clutch. The carburetor/fuel system needs some work and adjustment as it tends to die and flood sometimes when its warmed up, and has some hesitation on harder acceleration. The carburetor is a newer Edelbrock and has been on the car for the last 6 years while it was in storage. It has only been driven 4 or 5 times in the last 6 years according to the previous owner. We purchased it from a local estate and have only had it long enough to get it running. The exhaust was done within the last 6 years and has Flowmaster mufflers-it sounds terrific!!! It will also need some electrical work as the head lights DO NOT work, and neither do the which probably just need a new flasher, SO MAKE SURE TO BRING A FLATBED TRUCK/TRAILER, OR ENCLOSED TRAILER FOR PICKUP AS WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING IT TO YOUR DESTINATION!! Its also is missing the A/C compressor (a very common one, it should be easy to find), and has a slow power drain that will run the battery down if not started frequently. The condition of the body and interior is very good overall, but to make it super nice a new paint job would be in order. It has several touched up areas, some light cracking to the paint here and there with a fiberglass chip or two on the edges of the t-tops and one on the edge of the drivers door. Its what we like to call a 50 footer! It looks great from a distance but up close you can see the obvious defects. The interior will need carpet and some door panel repair and the inside panels to the t-tops re-attached. They used a very odd type of fastener with balls on stems that are supposed to mesh and hold the panel in place-it was a poor idea on GM's part as they do not work well when they get old. This looks like it was lightly customized back in the late 1970's/early 1980's and has had some larger front air dam flairs added with the nose seam worked over so it does not show. The wheels are older Cragar spokes and really do look great on the car. The tires are like new and I am guessing have less than 500 miles on them. This could an easy restoration project that you could do while using it for an everyday driver after sorting a few small things out.
