Up for auction we have a Sweet 2000 Tahoe Limited (SS). It has spent its life from new in North Carolina and Florida until August of 2009 when I purchased it from a U.S Army Serviceman who took very good care of it. This is a rust free truck. Being that I am an automotive technician I maintained the truck myself and basically kept it as a spare vehicle for weekend trips. The truck has a very low 106,000 miles and runs excellent with no mechanical problems at all. It is fully equipped with Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Locks, AM/FM Cassette with CD Player,Tilt Steering, and Cruise Control as well as all the other options that were available with the Tahoe Limited. It really is turn key and go. Being a black truck it has its share of minor exterior flaws but still looks awesome, a real head turner as you can see. The interior has minimal wear but looks great. The 2-tone Denali interior certainly does it justice. There are no cracks on the dash, door panels, console or any other of the plastic trim panels for that matter. It has the beginnings of the typical wear on the left side of the seating surface of the driver’s seat (there is a small hole that is just beginning to start) but not ripped. Both front seats are power, heated and have lumbar supports. The carpeting is original with no rips or holes throughout. Included are the original front, rear and cargo floor mats that are in great shape. Also included is the retractable cargo area cover which is in great shape as well. The engine compartment is very clean. The 5.7Liter Vortec runs like a true champion and the 4L60E Transmission shifts perfectly. I tuned it up (spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air filter and fuel filter at about 95k miles. The tires which are Hankook DynaPro AS P255/70R16 (which is the stock size) have about 65% tread left. Also there is an “Original” spare tire on an original Ronal R36 5th wheel. There is a Flowmaster SUV 5000 series muffler that makes the engine sound throaty, not too loud, not to quiet, just right. The rest of the exhaust system is original. Everything else is stock. This one is a real eye catcher for sure. The wheels are blacked out and I removed the original badging and replaced them with blacked out late model “SS” badges on the front driver and passenger doors and 1 on the R/R barn door. They look like they belong there and look great. The 2 rear quarter glasses are tinted with limo tint, the rear barn and side doors are factory tint and the front doors are tinted to 30% which gives it a very stealthy look. This truck is loaded to the max being that it came with the only option, Comfort and Security Package “Code ZM9”, A/C (Front & Rear) which blows ice cold and by the way the heat is red hot. As far as I can tell this is a smoke free truck. When I bought it there was no cigarette lighter and the ashtrays are perfect. I did install an aftermarket CompuStar alarm system including a remote control starter (with manuals) with 1-2 way remote and 1 regular remote. All in all this is a great looking and driving Tahoe. Here are the technical specifications; The TAHOE LIMITED is another one of Jon Moss's creations. He got the idea of this "SUV" when it was announced that the "Impala SS" was to be discontinued in 1996. The "SUV" was suppose to be named the "TAHOE SS" when Jon Moss introduced it at the Detroit Auto Show in 1997. The concept for this SUV was well accepted BUT company politics slowed the production even though it was accepted just as well as the "Impala SS”. The Main problem with this SUV was the name. Insurance rates are already high for SUV's in the states and the addition of the "SS" badging on the Tahoe made it even higher. After many months of debating and scheming, the "TAHOE SS" was renamed the "Tahoe Limited". Production was announced to begin in early spring of 1999 WITH A CATCH!!!... To make this SUV a true collector amongst the "SS" fanatics, only approximately 7500 units were to be manufactured. ALSO, only 1 unit was to be sold for every 3 dealerships nationwide. As of November 2000, Chevrolet still has not released the exact production numbers for the Limited's but in all the research I have done there about 7500 produced. These Tahoe's were specially equipped the same as the Z56 Police package but with all of the creature comforts. ALL Limited's are monotone Onyx Black in color and were offered exclusively as 4 door 2WD models. The L31 Vortec 350 cu. in. small block V-8 produces 255 HP and 330 Ft Lbs. of torque @2800 rpm and was tweaked and optimized to 130+ mph. Special 2 tone leather interior (Denali) with power driver's and passenger seat. The custom one off aluminum alloy wheels are quite distinctive. They were produced by "Ronal Wheel" model R36 and are 16"x7.5" in size. Other special equipment includes: Factory transmission oil cooler, engine oil cooler, p/s cooler, increased cooling capacity (Big Block Radiator), "Z56" suspension/performance package (police and law enforcement use only), a 120MPH speedometer. 46mm Bilstein shocks, front and rear sway bars (taken from the "Z71" Tahoe 4x4), heavy duty performance enhanced chassis, HD 4 wheel anti-lock brakes, front disc/rear drum (taken from the Suburban), Dual batteries (I installed a Red Top Optima (Starting) & Yellow Top Optima (Power supply) when I purchased the truck almost 2 years ago), 165 amp alternator, color matched monotone front/rear bumpers and front grill, special ground effects, integrated bumper mounted Pilot Fog Lights, privacy black out window treatment, auto dimming rear view and heated side view mirrors, deluxe sound insulation and "Limited" badging. The roof rack, body side moldings and tow hooks were both factory deleted items. The only option package available was the "Comfort and Security Package" "code ZM9". This option included the carpeted front/rear floor mats, rear air conditioning, 46mm Bilstein shocks, heated driver's and front passenger's seats, power passenger front seat, reversible cargo mat, heated electro chromatic exterior mirrors and a Homelink 3-channel transmitter. All the Limited's were produced in the same Arlington, Texas assembly plant as the Cadillac Escalade and the GMC Yukon Denali (all carryover models for 2000), Chevrolet concocted the "Z71" and Limited to appeal to buyers who liked the "old style" better than the new, and to take up some slack in the production schedule while the Texas plant prepared to change over to the redesigned Caddy and GMC. If you like what you see here, it is a great opportunity to snag one of these. I can’t imagine how many of these are left. But there but I am sure this is one of the better ones out there.
