Up for auction is my very solid '85 Volvo 245 DL Wagon for repair or parts. Two owner car; the original owner is a friend so I know the history of this car since new in '85. I have a spiral bound notebook that contains much of the maintenance history--it's yours with the car. The body is in very nice condition with no collision damage or repair. There are a couple of very small rust spots (photos), but the body is otherwise very good. Original paint is starting to oxidize on the roof, but is in good shape elsewhere. B230F 4 cylinder, fuel injected engine is in great shape with less than 142,000 original miles. Automatic transmission is also excellent. Power steering, power brakes. Tires are in good condition with an original, never used full sized spare. It has A/C that was working fine when she stopped running. The interior: Seats are fine with no tears or rips; my sons did try their hand at vinyl paint so the original tan is black in areas Carpet is good although a bit faded Molded mats in the interior tan color Door panels are also painted black and white Headliner is fine The stereo that you see in the interior photos is NOT included and has already been removed. That's the good, now the not as good.... The car has electrical harness problems. If you know the Volvos from this era, they had self destructing wire insulation. This car's harness is showing some harness damage. I believe that's the major problem with the car and the root cause of the fact that the car won't start. The car is not running; it cranks over on its own and it will run with an external fuel supply, but won't start and run on its own. It has good spark, compression, the fuel pumps run when powered directly and it will run with an external fuel supply. The rest of the troubleshooting is up to you when you win her. When you win, it will need to be towed or transported by you or your car mover. Please make certain that you don't expect to drive it--even onto a car carrier. Getting the car loaded and transported is completely the responsibility of the winning bidder.
