Vehicle Detail
In 1941 Packard moved to the entry level of the automotive market. They did this with the usual Packard quality and classic car Packard design. It became immediately apparent with the response of nearly 63,000 units being sold in the first year that the 110 would be an instant sensation. The competition neither had the quality nor the good looks of the Packard 110, as can be seen in the pictures of this particular car that is for sale on eBay. There is a saying that every car has its best color. I don’t believe that there is anybody that would disagree that the color scheme on this car is absolutely the best color scheme that you can put on a Packard 110. A famous northern Illinois automotive dealer who purchased this car long ago owns this particular car and had the restoration done at his facilities with the help of other outside restorers. It is a chassis off restoration and there is not a nut or a bolt that has not been restored. It is well known among professional restorers that a nut and bolt restoration of this quality today by a top restorer would be well over $150,000.00 on this car. In other words you will be able to purchase this car for just pennies on the dollar of the restoration cost and basically be getting the car for nothing. This is such an exceptional value - it can only make somebody happy. You might say that the dealer who has owned the car all these years loved the car so much that he didn’t care about the return on investment he only cared about having his Packard 110 and all his other cars in the condition that he required and that is as near perfection as possible. (See 1930 Oakland 101 4 door V8 also listed). If you are looking for a car that could take first prize at any car show and mechanically is ready to go across country then you should look no further then this Packard 110. It is absolutely the best. The owner is prepared to take a substantial loss and cares more about the car getting the car into the right hands of a serious car collector who cannot afford the Packard Standard 8, Super 8 or V12 but will care for the car the way he has. We believe that from these pictures you can see what a great color scheme it has and also that the car is as straight as an arrow and the finish is as fine a finish that you would find on a Duesenberg or Rolls Royce. I guess we can give you a hint that the reserve on this car is below the reserve on your average 1957 Chevy 2 door, just take a look at the detailing on the dash or the quality of the interior. The second hint on reserve is that if you only had to paint this car with no bodywork you would spend well over what the reserve is on the car. If you take a look at the picture of the trunk you will see many trophies that this car has won at car shows along with the very rare accessory backup lights. Any Packard made before WWII is synonymous with the word quality. This car has been restored to such a high standard it is undoubtedly in better condition than it was the day it left the factory. Take a closer look this car, it is equipped with the deluxe bumper guards, fog lights, trim rings and practically brand new white wall tires, and all the equipment that came on the deluxe model of the Packard 110. 82,251 original miles. The car was never a Taxi. The car was in the same family since it was new (or almost new) and the current seller bought it from the estate. The seller does not believe that the car has overdrive.
