Up for auction im selling my 1956 Mercury Phaeton 4Dr.hardtop satin black finish with brand new black factory style carpet,the door panels,seats are old & cleaned up not new and well need reupholstery, the headliner is good cond.it has the chrome around windows interior like the 1955- 56 crown victorias, just missing one small piece near drivers side sunvisor. it has the original radio and clock,radio turns on & hums lights up tubes but no sound. heater works good, wipers are the old vacuum style need some work. the interior lights work and has the rear light by the pull down arm rest neat! rear speaker cover in back window compartment, glass has to cracked door windows.speedometer quit working while it was sittting years ago, then it worked the last couple times i drove it. has some brake work done,lines brake cylinders,master changed, but they are manual not power.have to push harder. installed a new emergency brake cable works good. dual exhaust,previous owner says its the 312 V8 with a 2bbl carb and i have an extra 4 bbl.intake that goes with car.also the extra rear bumper guards are in trunk. the tires are older with the wide white add on disc type, and are starting to chip out in some areas,they are old and well need new tires for longer cruises, this Merc has a little old school look with the satin black paint, wide white walls, fender skirts,htop windows all down, turquise blue interior, and all the neat old chrome on car makes a neat old cruiser! some of the chrome pieces on front fenders are changed, it has the neat older 4 bar spinner hubcaps, good headturner,gets lots of looks,thumbs up when driving around. lots of fun, installed valves seals but is an older engine and still uses oil,probably well need rebuild,it has good oil pressure.runs and starts good for its age.hardly leaks any oil and runs & drives & shifts, goes down the road 50- 60 mph no problem! this car has to start in neutral not park. good starter classic merc for someone, good driver cond. solid floors,rockers, trunk,not a perfect body or paint but a nice old cruiser,driver. selling this worldwide! sold as is.
