Normal 0 2009 Suzuki V-Strom DL650 I know. An RV dealer with a motorcycle? What do we know about motorcycles? I worked for Buell and Harley-Davidson for years. I ride my own motorcycle nearly every day - rain, shine, sun, or cold. I do all my own maintenance and repair. I know motorcycles, and I ride every one personally before I write the listing. Liquid cooled 645cc DOHC V-twin Six speed transmission Chain drive Dual disc front brakes; single disc rear brake 61” wheelbase 5.8 gal fuel tank ONLY 727 MILES ! ! ! This V-Strom is a NICE bike. With less than 1,000 miles…how could it not be, right? But beyond just condition, the bike itself is VERY cool. Very similar to my personal Buell Ulysses – a nice, capable dual sport. Comfortable seating position, nice and upright. Big comfy seat. The seat’s a little tall (32.3”)…but at under 500 lbs dry weight it’s not a heavy bike, so one foot down is plenty at lights. It’s got rear remote preload adjust on the suspension, too, so you can reach under your right…um…cheek, turn a knob, and soften the spring preload on the fly for when you see that fire trail or dirt road that you just have to explore. You can also use the adjustment for load changes – if you carry a passenger or put luggage on it, you can set the preload to get the handling the way you want it, loaded or empty. There’s also rebound adjustment on the rear, as well as preload adjustment on the front end (those require tools, but you can still set the bike up for your weight and handling preferences). This bike is also BONE STOCK. Stock pipe. Stock tires. Stock brakes. Stock bars. Stock mirrors. Nothing’s been monkeyed with at all. It’s never been down. Heck, it’s got huge “chicken strips” on the tires – not only has it never been down, I don’t think its ever been leaned over hard in a turn! (No, they haven’t let me up in the mountains with it yet….) The fuel injected engine fires right up, shifter works like it should, and the owner must have treated the fuel properly for storage because it runs like a champ. From what I can tell, this is a NON-ABS bike. Without a shop manual I can’t be positive, but there is only one wheelspeed sensor, on the front, and I’m guessing it’s for the speedo. I also don’t see a tone ring on any of the rotors or any electrical going to the calipers. That, and I think the ABS bikes are labeled “650-A” on the tail? If I’m wrong, please correct me (I’m not allowed to go out in the parking lot to…um…”experiment” with the brakes). If you’ve been looking for a nice DL650…this is IT. He did the break-in for you, so all you have to do is hop on a near-new 2009 and GO RIDE. If you live in Maryland, we will get the bike inspected for you before you pick up. If you don’t live in Maryland…well, you’re going to have a HECK of a nice ride home!
