1972 Buick Centurian 455 engine. RARE Centurion only made 1971-1973 Only 10,296 convertibles were made during this time. Entry level collectible! This car has power steering, power brakes, AM/FM radio, brand new soft top. It is a no rust – no hit car. Repainted once in the original gorgeous emerald green. The car that you see before you is a fantastic entry level collectible car. It is a ‘no rust – no hit’ car. Automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows and air conditioned, AM/FM Radio, and believe it or not Power Windows & Air Conditioning and the car has a boot.. It doesn’t get much better then that until you add in the 455 motor. This is the same fast motor that was put into Riviera’s…this car really flies! This car is owned by an elderly gentleman who is very sick and we have been selling his cars at very reasonable reserves…every one of them has sold and this will be the next one to sell. 1970’s convertibles like this have absolutely no place to go but straight up the charts. The car is extremely clean and in our opinion we love the matching emerald green color on the exterior – interior combination. This is a top collectible for the 70’s and again an open convertible (new top). Please note that the photos were taken without the car being cleaned up at all as the owner’s health does not allow him to detail out the car in anyway. The only thing we can note about the car that appears to be in less then great condition is the green carpet seems to be somewhat bleached out. Other then that everything is in beautiful condition. In summary if you are looking for LARGE, FAST, COLLECTIBLE TOURING CAR it is in the infancy of his collectible price. Cars 1972 and older do not have titles but are transferred on the certificates. Conceptcarz Website In 1956 Buick introduced the Centurion Motorama showcar. It was clothed in a fiberglass body and painted in red and white. It had a bubble top roof that was modeled after the aero-industry. In the early 1970s, Buick introduced the Centurion production car and it would remain in production for only a short time, ending in 1973. The Centurion was offered as a convertible and a four-door hardtop. Mounted under the bonnet was a big-block 455 cubic-inch V8 engine that produced 315 horsepower and 450 ft-lbs. The following year, the industry switched to SAE power measurement, which measured horsepower on the engine alone, which meant it was rated with all accessories and a full exhaust system installed. For 1972 and 1973, the 455 cubic-inch engine produced 255 hp and 360 ft-lbs of torque. Production of the Centurion was produced from 1971 through 1973 with 110,539 examples produced.
