Vehicle Detail
Miss Kim, the dedicated bachelorette has settled down, gotten married, and had a baby. Since she couldn't figure out how to get a car seat into the back of her Mustang, she went out and bought a 4 door. That was 3 years ago. Since then, it has been mostly sitting in the garage. Yesterday I put a new battery in it and it started right up. This is the description of the vehicle to the best of my knowledge: The Good: Tires are fairly new. Clutch is new. Battery is new. The car was involved in an accident a few thousand miles ago. As a result it was mostly repainted. They did an excellent job. Engine is strong and doesn't burn oil. It gets up and goes. A/C blows cold. Convertible top works great. Premium sound system. Security system. All glass is good. The Bad: The rear end has gotten noisy and should be replaced. It might just be the bearing in there, I don't really know. From sitting, the gasket dried out and the differential gear oil leaked out. We were told it needed a tune-up last year. I'm sure sitting hasn't changed that, however it started right up and there was no check engine light. The Ugly: Miss Kim claims that the garage door is a few inches too narrow on the passenger side and that she had to modify the passenger side mirror to make it fit in there. I bought a brand new electric replacement mirror which will be included in this auction. Also fireplugs are hard to see when you're backing up, so there is a half-dollar size hole poked in the bumper. A couple little dings, but overall very clean. No rust. Interior has no rips or tears anywhere, but is not what I would call clean. Needs a good going over. Plastic lenses are a little hazy. Inspection and emissions are due. Last emission was 8/22/09 at 150k. Passed no problem, driven only 3k since then. It is no longer legally tagged. Before it was retired, we contemplated putting a few hundred into it, getting the engine tuned and the differential replaced. But the house maintenance pushed it to the bottom of the list. Now I just want my garage back. If you put oil back into the differential you can drive it home. It's been noisy for 30 or 40k.
