Up for auction is a beautiful 1985 Mercedes Benz 300 CD. This car is in beautiful shape, originally purchased from a california owner in 2006. This car has a two tank Greasecar WVO/SVO conversion already installed. I had the car converted to run on Straight Vegetable oil or Waste Vegetable oil in about 2007 and have been running it on that since then. I had Greasecar do the two tank system, so the car still uses diesel or WVO/SVO, your choice. There is a switch under the steering wheel that switches you between diesel and WVO/SVO. The vegetable oil tank is located in the trunk in the spare tire well and holds 15 gallons. Greasecar also installed an oil fill gauge, and an oil temp gauge to monitor the vegetable oil system. The car gets great gas mileage on either vegetable oil or diesel, approx 25/gallon. Everything on the car is functional and working. Working heat and A/C, both blow cold/hot very quickly. The only item not functioning is the antenna, which works, but stays in the up position and will not retract. Has original first aid kit, original tool set, original spare. Never been repainted, all original parts, except for a new transmission which was put in about a year ago. When I had the transmission replaced (by Mercedes Benz) I also had them replace the vacuum hoses which were getting brittle and the fuel filters and fuel pump. When Mercedes Benz took out my dashboard to replace the vacuum hoses they somehow broke the odometer, so that was replaced at 209,000 miles a few months ago. Car has new brakes, decent tires, but could probably use a new set soon. All of the rugs are in great shape, non smoking car. there is some wear on the front seats, but nothing major, what you would expect for a 26 year old car. Cargo nets on backs of seats are tight. Car runs and drives great. The car is basically rust free, with the exception of one small quarter sized piece of rust at the bottom of the drivers side door panel. car does not have original radio, but has new CD player stereo, car has bluetooth (Parrot system), and iPod direct installed. This is a daily driver if you want it to be. Car has original paint which is still a deep blue with a nice finish. There are a few minor/tiny little paint scratches, again, nothing you wouldn't expect for a 26 year old car, no more than 4 or 5 on the whole car. I tried to photo the one on the hood, but so small had hard time getting picture. No dents. Custom dash mat protects the dash, the dash has no cracks. All of the glass is in nice shape, no leaky or cracked rubber seals on any of the doors/windows/sunroof. This car has been garage kept. Two notes on the vegetable oil system: Before the winter I had my mechanic disconnect the fuel line for the vegetable oil because I don't like to bother with the vegetable oil system in the winter, all you need to do is have your mechanic hook up the fuel line again. The veg oil system, however, works fine in any weather over 20 degrees. The system works in any temp if the car is garage kept. Also, I have separately for sale a Greasecar vegetable oil filter/pump and 50 gallon drum. All working perfectly. Click my user id for a look at that auction.
