Vehicle Detail
I got old too fast and will turn loose of a very nice original 1937 Chevy coupe. I'll tell you what I know of the car. I bought this 3 or 4 years ago from the family that had passed it down to family member for over 50 years. I drove it around here the first Summer, then put it in my barn to go through after I got two other cars done. I'm still working on those two other cars now. The 37 has bad paint and will need new interior. I have half of the car sanded and the only bondo I have found is on the bottom of the trunk lid and tail pan ( probably rear ended years ago ) and a little on the bottom of the right rear fender. I live in a dry desert area of Idaho and our cars really dont get to rusty. The car seems very solid, but I noticed the fenders have been filled in with bondo where they attach to the body. I think they did this to make a smooth finish and not show any seams. There is some rust as can be expected for the age of this car, underneath, at the sides of the head lights and on the bottom of the rear quarter. I'm trying to say this is an old original and dont expect a car that has been in a time capsule. The interior was redone many years ago and a vinyl was used and this is all cracked . The original seat should be in very good condition to be reupholstered. I tried to go through the brakes and was able to remove three wheel cylinders and hone them out. The fourth I could not get off and tried to hone this one on the car. It did not work and now every so often this wheel will lock up. I have by passed the problem wheel cylinder, and there is not any brakes on the car now. You will have to fix this wheel cylinder. I'm not sure, but I believe the motor was replaced to a 235. This is what the previous owner told me, and it looks like they also replaced the radiator. This is a nice solid steel survivor but you will still need to pour money into it to finish her, and I dont have it now that I have retired. You will have to arrange for this to be picked up. I live about 15 miles from the capital of Idaho ( BOISE ). Email me with questions. I want $2000.00 down 5 days after the auction and the balance due before it's picked up , no more than 30 days. I will probably work with you if you need more time. The car has always been stored in a garage or barn, and it will stay in my barn untill picked up. I did fail to say the the bumpers have been replated and are included in the sale plus new glass was cut for the small quarter windows and new glass rubber bought. I do need front and back seats plus door panel for my 55 Chevy hardtop that I could take in on trade or buy outright from you. This is the last time this car will be listed AND AT A GIVE A WAY PRICE THIS TIME. I have a local auctioneer that wants to have it for a classic car auction coming up in two weeks. Sorry I can NOT TAKE A TRADE IN, but we can work out a payment program for you. Email me if you need terms before you bid. DO NOT BID IF YOU CAN NOT KEEP YOUR WORD.
