Vehicle Detail
I have owned this truck for almost three years. When I got it the body and frame were in exceptional condition considering its age. The day it arrived I started tearing it down for the cummins swap. The plan was for a daily driver built for reliability and simplicity. It took almost a year before I drove it again and It has been my daily driver for almost a year now. As planned, it is simple and reliable, unfortunately I don't see paint in my near financial future so I'm thinking of moving on and letting someone else put on the finishing touches. $15K invested. 12 valve turbo cummins from 95 dodge. 85000 miles, Never molested until I got it. Mild tune now for @325hp. KDP, 3K rev springs, fuel plate, timing. Not too smokey. @ 95000 miles. New intercooler and Radiator. All original dummy gauges are hooked up and work.. Rebuilt 47rh auto tranny. Billet converter, heavy duty clutches. Great combo with this motor. Torque converter lock up and over drive are on pressure switches and toggles. Transfer case NP241D. Fixed Yolk Tom Woods Pinion E-Brake to factory pedal. Front Tom Woods CV drive shaft, Rear Local Built heavy duty 2 piece Drive Shaft. Axles from Chevy 8 lug 10 bolt front, 14 bolt rear, 3.73 gears. Steering- new- gear box, pump, tie rods, drag link, lines, stabilizer- turns like a new truck- 1 finger Brakes- 4 wheel disk, rebuilt booster & master cylinder. Wilwood proportioning valve, new lines and calipers. Pinion Brake, Trailer Brake controls. (I would upgrade to hydro boost). Tires- 3000 miles on BFG all terrains 285s on dodge steel wheels Interior- Rust in floor pans removed and replaced with steel. Sound and heat deadener (fatmat) on floor, ceiling and inside of doors. carpet replaced 2 years ago. Headliner 2 months ago. all interior lights, switches and gauges work. 1 extra seat from a parts truck will be included. All the seats are rough but salvageable. Body- I only repaired the worst of the rust- it wasn't bad to begin with but if it was essential to being a daily driver I fixed it, saving all other body work to be done at once. I could slap on a cheap paint job and make it look a lot better in the photos but I really want it to be clear that the body still needs to be gone completely over . The remaining body work is mostly exterior but I am sure the bed should come off to be done right. There are no rust holes any where, just surface rust- mostly in the bed. The worst body areas are the bed, a 14" section in the seam behind the rear driver side seat (it will be easy with the bed removed), and a couple small spots around the wind shield. The wind shield is cloudy and should be switched out when body is getting done. I have a nice clear used one that will be included. Also included will be all new window channel materials, 4 good spare doors, and a nearly perfect tailgate. Also all the components needed to put AC back on. Second fuel tank clean, coated and new sender installed. Original IH trucker mirrors !!! Other things to finish up. Re-rout short section of exhaust to locate 1 rear shock. Seat Covers or replace seats. Run fuel line and valve for second of two fuel tanks. Please realize this is a completely custom and recycled vehicle. It will probably always be a work in progress. This truck will be sold as is with no warranty or guarantee. I highly recommend you come and drive this or any other other custom vehicle before buying it. If I left anything out it was accidental, please email me any questions. I welcome you to come see this thing or request more pictures. For the buffs: This one was built at the springfield,OH plant. It was ordered custom by Ernie Bisio in Portland, OR (Bisio Motors, the last IH light truck dealer in the US) It sold to a logging company who used it well before selling it to a man outside of Portland. From then on it lived at very high altitude in the mountains until I bought it three years ago. Original options included AC, two tone seats, exterior trim
