According to AutoCheck this car was originally sold in California and spent its first 20 years in California and Arizona. This car has been babied and it shows. There have been just two owners. The hard top removes and there is a built in convertible soft top that stays within the trunk deck. The soft top is in tact but has some tears in it. I didn't get any photos of it. It works fine. If you use BUY it NOW for this car, I will supply , a brand new top - still in the box. Otherwise the cost for a new top will be $300.00 if you want one. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Complete Description and Information: MECHANICAL: This fine automobile is equipped with a powerful original 8-cylinder. The engine compartment is clean and everything is in proper order. It starts right up and idles smoothly - purring like a kitten. I test drove this Mercedes in all conditions. It has a powerful and strong engine and it runs about as perfect as possible at all speeds. The transmission shifts smoothly and properly at all speeds. The vehicle has just over 100,00 miles, which is very low for the model year. It appears well maintained and babied like a collectable car from the start. There are no mechanical problems. There are no leaks, unusual noises, or odors. It drives straight and smooth down the road. I found it to be a pleasurable ride. . The exhaust system is good. It is as quiet as new and is fully intact. The tires are good, they are matching with good tread. This is an awesome driving machine. A warranty is available up to four years. Please see warranty info below. INTERIOR: The interior is in awesome condition and appears original. The carpets are excellent. The dash is excellent and crack free. The leather seating is in near perfect condition. All the trim looks great. There are only minor imperfections and are very minimal. It includes the original floor mats which are also excellent. There is a small one inch tear in the rear compartment under the top adjuster. This interior is in excellent condition. BODY & EXTERIOR: Take a look at these pictures. This is a beautiful car and has minimal flaws. You will view shiney paint that appears original. There are just very minor imperfections on this car. There are 2 or 3 small dings and possibly some very light small scratches that are not very noticable. There are a couple of scratches where the top comes off near the trunk lid. I photographed what I could find but there isn't much to find. This is a beautiful exterior. And it will be hard to find a better looking '87 Model Roadster. OVERALL: This car is just about as good as it gets. It is mechanically sound with a strong running engine, a beautiful interior and a superior looking exterior. Yes it is a true head turner. The interior airbag light is on and the air conditioner is not blowing cold. I think any Mercedes lover or classic car lover will "love" this car.
