Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1997 Suzuki RMX250 Dual Sport up for sale. Last of the enduro/GNCC bikes from Japan. Similar performance to an RM250 though slightly tamer for off-road and trail use. Suspension very good for single track, and setup from the factory for 140-170 lb rider. The bike runs like a champ and includes plenty of jets for anything from sea level to high Sierra, summer to winter conditions. Everything is in good working and mechanical order. Legitimately converted to CA street title. Lawfully/legally-titled and registered in CA under my name via the criteria is listed under CHP publications and allowance made within the CA DMV personnel handbook; convert from green sticker to road legal a few years ago. Current title is in my hand, and the sticker valid though summer of 2012. Equipped with operating Baja Designs dual-sport kit. Has Suzuki speedometer/odometer for DMV purposes. Wide-ratio 5-speed transmission, heavier flywheel, side stand, operating lights and lighting coil, 18" rear wheel, enduro porting, large yet slim 3-gallon gas tank, Zerk linkage and swing arm-grease fittings, O-ring chain all stock factory. All original plastic (exc. rear fender and BD head light), seat, cables. New Motion Pro speedometer cable installed (not pictured below, but I installed it a couple days after the pictures were taken). Aftermarket FMF expansion chamber and spark arrestor, easily meets legal limit in CA for noise. New Wiseco OEM-size top-end kit with 1989 RM250 head gasket, new Honda premix coolant, exhaust valves cleaned ~500 miles ago. Air filter good. James Dean jetted PWK38mm carburetor. Works Connection radiator and frame guards; Works Connection glide plate (flows more air, and allows mud to fall through.) Acerbis hand guards and aftermarket aluminum handle bar. IMS Pro Series foot pegs, MSR rear disk guard. Tires in good shape - many miles left, and Bridgestone Ultra HD tubes F/R. Sprockets and chain in good condition. Selling with intent to buy a replacement street bike for college in the fall; this one's super for connecting trails but not the best choice for prolonged road trips though sure fun to accelerate and wheelie on demand. Off road it's like a dog that tugs on the leash although it has a tamer side for single track - it is all up to the operator and how much he twists the throttle. This one's been to Moab a few times, Sierras (Kennedy Meadows) Hungry Valley and Ballinger Canyon - an all-around competent-trail machine. I have a few more pictures of the Wiseco piston/rings/wrist pin/circlips/wrist-pin bearing/RM gasket installation done one year ago, so if interested, message me and I’ll send you the photos of the rebuild.Note my 100% feedback - I strive to be honest and forthcoming on all my sales. I will deliver to anywhere in the southwest for to/from gas money. I also have a one-place trailer if needed. No warranty given nor implied. Riding off- or on-road can be hazardous - use at your own risk.
