SquareTrade © AP6.0 hughes35 Store This is another great California find: a 1967 Mercedes Benz 250S special ordered with manual transmission and steering. Delivered new in San Francisco. This car has been cherished all its life and has only covered 105,000 miles since new. This is a 2.5 liter, 6 cylinder car with dual Solex carburetors and a 4-speed transmission. It goes superbly and is surprisingly frugal on gas; I just drove the car from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara and it did not miss a beat. She is a real treat to drive, the brakes and handling are superb and the engine pulls very nicely in all gears. This car comes with a huge stack of bills and history and has receipts for $23,800 since 1998 when it had 70,000 original miles; this includes a full engine rebuild, about 20,000 miles ago. The body is superb, all panels are original, she has never had rust or accident damage, the undercariage is beautiful, 100% original and rust free. No fluid leaks, either. A real testament to well cared for California cars. The paint is quite recent and of high quality in the original Mercedes DB350 or mittelblau, while not a show car, it presents itself beautifully and would not look out of place anywhere. The interior is in contrasting light blue Tex. The seats are all excellent and useable but the wood will need some attention. We tossed the crumbling old rubber mats and decided to let the new caretaker have the joy of replacing them. Overall, this is a superb driving and useable classic Mercedes Benz that presents itself well and with some attention to detail will give years of faithful service. The interesting history and specification as well as the amazing documentation including original import correspondence and factory "Kardex" as well as all books and manuals make it a very unique and attractive investment. Look at the pictures and feel free to ask questions and - as usual - physical inspection is welcome and encouraged.
