1978 Jeep Golden Eagle with 54,990 miles. Power steering, power brakes, hard top, 304 V8 original engine. Original Turbo 400 trans and quadratrac, part time 4WD kit installed with front hubs. Jeep has been in family since 4/7/89 and had 34,507 when purchased. It was a brown Golden Eagle with Levis interior. Frame, engine, trans, transfer, and axles are original to Jeep, axles were upgraded with 456 and locker in rear, 456 open dif in front with warn hubs. New brakes, springs, calipers, brake cylinders, and e-brake cables. Transmission fluid and filter changed. Engine has small cam, edlebrock torker intake, edlebrock carb, with matching valve covers and breather (K&N filter). Headers, HEI distributer and wires. Electric fuel pump in 21 gal 86 oem fuel tank. Runs very good, no smoke. Transmission shifts good. Tub is from a 95 Wrangler. Original had rust and wanted later model doors. Winshield frame, tailgate, and both fenders were new. hood is original. Tub was converted to be like a CJ. Very straight, no rust at all. Floor coated with bed liner but also ahve original carpet. Original dash and visors in Levis brown. I don't have Levis seats, gave them away. When I started 7 years ago I was stupid and did not know what I had. Seats are from 95 Wrangler Sahara, green and tan adjustable high backs. I also used the 95 rollbar with it attached to windshield frame, all oem for 95. Jeep is lifted about 7" with 35X12.50 tires on centerline style wheels, tires are 90% tread or better.I have the AC compressor and brackets, inside unit, and condenser, it will go with jeep but is not installed. It has very nice paint and new decals. Jeep looks very good and drives good for age and size tires. It has cv joint drive shafts front and rear. Radiator, hoses, and belts replaced. Jeep has not been driven for over 7 years so I would not try to drive very far until it has been driven some. I could have purchased a nice late model TJ for what I have in this jeep, but I wanted to build a CJ7. I know the fuel and temp guage did not work, signal lights didn't work, but it has been stored in a garage and not driven for a long time. Call 501-472-6913 and I will answer any questions. On May-19-11 at 15:54:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I drove Jeep about 2 miles, ran and shifted fine. Steering tight and ran straight. No smoke and good power, but leaks some oil. It is original engine that is 33 years with 55k miles and holds very good oil pressure. Temp guage does work, but fuel and alt guage don't. Jeep is charging at over 14 volts at idle with meter. 4WD works good, I checked it to make sure. Signal lights work except r rear light. All head lights, tail lights, and marker lights work. Horn works. Speedometer works. Interior in good condition. New door panels, visors and dash perfect, rear seat perfect, driver sear small tear on side. pass seat was perfect but a mouse put a hole about the size of a quarter. Carpet OK for age, was original in jeep. 95 seat belts front and rear, much safer. Roll bar pad oem for 95 in spice color, very close to levis tan. Zipper broke in one pad on rear bar. I think this jeep is nice for its age, but as with any car, truck or jeep that is older, don't expect new condition.
