1979 diesel rabbit..... a true 50+ mpg car. Last time mileage was checked, it got 52 mpg. Car is in original condition (it has had a paint job some time in its life, a good paint job, but it use to be tan). It has had glow plugs added. Diesel rabbits are natoriously cold natured. The glow plugs help the engine start instantly, they are about a $200.00 add on. Car has new tires, new battery, new front left axle. Brakes and engine have been serviced in the last one thousand miles. Runs and drives really good. The bad.... It is a 1979 that hasnt had any thing done to it (except paint). Exterior paint is in good shape but you can tell it has been a long time since painted. Some surface rust comeing through. Window rubber, door trim, dash and misculanious other plastics are dry rotted and cracking. I bought the car as a commuter. It was going to be a project. Financial situation is forceing the sale of some of my "projects". I wanted to try to convert it to bio diesel? With gas prices going up I was going to fix it up and drive it forever. The drive train is in very good condition. I believe that the car has just over 100,000 miles on it. These diesels are rare and hard to find. Feel free to email with questions.
