Vehicle Detail

You are viewing a used 1990 Ford Ranger pickup. I bought this to use for parts for a friends Ford Ranger and when I got it home I found they are not the same so I am selling it. Here is what I know about it: The engine is a four cylinder 2.3 liter gas. It starts and runs, but it has engine noise. I drove it 20 miles and it moves and drives fine, but it has a banging sound coming from the engine. One of my in-house brain surgeons/mechanics said it sounded to him like a push rod in the top of the engine, but I have no way of knowing - you are buying it that way - no guarantee in any way! When I bought it, the guy kept the battery because it was new. I have an old one I can stick in it which will allow us to jump it and load it on a trailer, but it does not take a charge. The transmission is a four speed automatic and it seemed to drive and shift fine. The ebay listing form reads that this is a manual transmission, but it is not and I can not figure out how to change the listing to show it is an automatic. The door sticker reads that this truck has a GVWR of 4140 pounds. All the gauges worked including the odometer which reads 61203 miles. The engine did not get hot, it held good oil pressure, and seemed to work fine other than the noise. The heater works and the A/C turns on, but it does not blow cold. The radio works and it also has a cassette player, but I did not test it. The truck has cruise, but I did not notice it until just now when I took photos of it, so I do not know if it works or not. All the lights work including the turn signals and brake lights. All the glass is good. The only thing weird in the cab was that every now and then the windshield wipers would turn on for one swipe and then stop. The guy I bought it from said it had never done that before. It may have been because I was driving it with the bad battery that did not take a charge, I have no way of knowing. The seat has some tears and wear, but it still sits fine. The glove box does not stay closed. The headliner is sagging like granny's underwear, but the cab is in decent condition for its age. I swept it out, but it would clean up nicely if you would spend some time on it. The tires all hold air fine and have decent tread, but they are on mismatched wheels as you can see in the photos. The bed has a bed liner in it. The guy got tired of stuff sliding around in it so he had a rubber coating sprayed on which I would remove. It is kind of sticky and melted and is gross in my opinion! The tailgate works and it is a normal length bed, not a short bed. The truck has rust, scratches and dents as you can see in the photos. It is nothing fancy! The worst dent is in the passenger door, but the door opens and closes fine. The rear corners of the cab are rusted and the fenders over the rear wheels are also bad - see photos. It appears to me that someone added extra springs to the rear axle. My neighbor has a ranger about the same year and it does not have nearly as many spring leafs. There was a nice Sportsman fiberglass cap mounted on the back. I am selling it seperately in a different auction - check out my other listings. I drove the truck home, and it made it fine even with the engine noise. But I would recommend that you tow or haul the truck to its new home. NO RESERVE! High bidder gets it. LOCAL PICK UP I am a cattle farmer here in Mid-Missouri, so I am flexible about when you want to come and get items you have purchased from me, but I try and keep a schedule for my families benefit. I ask that you come between 9:00 in the morning and 4:00 at night. I am not available on Sundays whatsoever - that is God and family day, so don't ask! Just because I am a farmer does not mean that I am here everyday, I travel around to auctions and surplus sales and am gone several times a week. So don't do like some folks have in the past and drive 800 miles to get here and find out I am gone. You must contact me before you just show up! My granny always said that showing up unannounced was rude - you have to give people notice so they can get presentable. Trucking/airport pickup I have a local trucking company that I highly recommend that you call if you need a quote on having larger items like machinery and large trucks hauled to you. They are DAB Transport and their phone number is: (816)230-4135. They are located in Odessa, Missouri, and are just all around good folks to deal with. They are equipped to deal with about anything you need hauled, including tall bucket trucks and heavy machinery. I am located 100 miles West of the St. Louis airport, 10 miles off Interstate 70 at the Kingdom City exit #148 in Fulton, Mo, 65251. If you buy a vehicle from me and want to drive it home, there is a nice shuttle service that runs between the Kansas City (KCI) airport and the St. Louis (STL) airport. It is called: MO-X. They make a stop at my exit on I-70 at a McDonalds restaurant to pick up and drop off passengers. I can meet you in Kingdom City with your vehicle purchase so you can drive it home. There is also a local license bureau where you can buy a one way trip permit temporary tag if you want one. I require payment in full within one week of auctions end. Once it is paid for, there is no hurry for you to pick it up - take six months if need be! If you don't come get it after six months have passed since the end of the auction, it will be resold, and my wife gets the proceeds. If you have a legitimate reason why you need to wait longer than six months to pick up your purchase, contact me and we will work something out. If you have any questions, you can e-mail or call me at (573) 219-6611. Thanks for looking and please check out my other auctions! CONTACT ME If you have any questions about this item, or about delivery or shipping, you can call me or email me. Don't be shy! The only stupid question is the one you are afraid to ask. I prefer email as it lets me answer questions at night when I am not busy and it gives me time to find the right answer to your questions. I also run tractors and skid loaders here on the farm and a lot of times I do not hear my phone. I also live in a rural area and in a lot of places I do not get phone service. One of the places I do not get good coverage is in my shop! So if you can't get me on the phone, try back later or better yet, send me an email and I will get back with you. You can send me an email through ebay or you can send it to me directly to: olivet@ktis.net My cell phone number is: (573)219-6611 Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!
