I listed this car for sale last year but the buyer flaked so I took this car to a garage specializing in motor rebuilds.They bungled the job.The car will not pass smog(twice).It is complete and running but you will have to find a mechanic that can properly work on Nissan Z cars.The car is complete and in decent non-rusted condition.It has 4 new Kumho Exsta 17in tires and 4 Rota wheels(this is more than $1K in tires and wheels alone).The A/C works and the A/C system was repaired before the motor spun a bearing the first time.It has 2 large oversize racing type seats and they are comfortable for me(I am 6ft4in tall).I have plenty of headroom and legroom in this car,this is why I bought because I can fit in it.I want to tell the sad tale of the repair attempt by me on this car.I took the car to 1800 Engines in Montclair,CA.They took nearly 4 weeks to repair the car the first time.When I got it back it (1) failed smog check(2) it leaked oil badly from the side of the engine(3)The car was filthy and was missing the engine cover(4) I took the car to Universal City Nissan and they did a diagnostic on the car.They recommended that I immediately take the car back to the dealer that did the repair job and they gave me a printout with problems listed like,oil leaking badly from timing chain cover,engine has internal noise,valve train has internal noise,A/C system has been drained and not refilled,and they recommended that the car not be driven until repaired.I took the car back to 1800 Engines and they said they would fix it.2 weeks later(I had to call them) they said the car is ready and come and get it.When I picked the car up I recorded the mileage as I always do and as they are required by CA law to do.The total miles driven while they had my Z (2 times) was 403 miles.They had not fixed the oil leak(s).The engine was and is still noisy.It failed smog for the second time.I had enough of this garage and I sued him in San Bernardino Small Claims Court,Fontana District.I went to Court against them and had evidence that they had smoked my new Kumho rear tires badly,the front nose piece was cracked by them,the interior of the car was dusted by leaving the car outdoors with the windows down,and all the above shoddy workmanship problems.When I got the car back the 2nd time I found a receipt from a business in San Bernardino tucked down between the seats.It had a date and time of a Friday night while they had my car.What was my car doing in S.B at 8PM at night? And who was driving it and why?And without my knowledge or permission and without insurance? They trashed my Z and they smoked my new tires by "drifting" the car.The car smelled bad because whoever drove it over 400 miles did`nt bathe very well and the air did not work because they drained it so it was hot driving my car(we were going thru a very hot spell at the times they had my Z).I presented all this to Judge Pro Tem Lily L. Sinfield and she ruled that "the Plaintiff has the burden to prove a cause of action and/or damages by a proponderance of the evidence.Plaintiff failed to meet the burden and did not prove a cause of action and/or damages on which a judgement could be awarded.Judgment for Defendant" In CA Small Claims Court the Plaintiff has no right to appeal,only the defendant.I am now out $3300+ and more in damages caused by this 1800 Engines.Please do not bid on this car unless you are a serious buyer.The car needs work.If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks do not bid.The car is located in Gardena,CA 90249.Buyer arranges all shipping,towing,etc.I have all reg and title and it is up to date.It is not the car`s fault that this mess happened.I just expected to be treated better by the Court than this judgment.In the last 36 months 1800 Engines in Montclair,CA has more complaints to the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair than any other garage in S.B.County,CA(check the record, it is online and you can call or write them).I should have checked their record with the CA B.A.R. but I did`nt.They advertised themselves as a fully equipped auto machine shop in the Los Angeles Recycler.The motor does run and the car drives but it still leaks oil and it will not pass CA smog check.I feel violated by this garage and by the Court decision but there is nothing I can do.This guy even threatened me in the hallway outside the Courtroom.I just want to sell this car.I am using some older photos from right after I bought it and after I got the car back from them.This car is saveable and an easy restoration for somebody who knows what they are doing.Seller reserves the right to reject any and all bids during and after this auction listing ends.It is a west coast car with little or no rust that I can find.It has T-Tops and the shades and they are all there and removable.It even has the cargo area cover intact.The jack and tool kit are intact and all there.
