NO RESERVE MILEAGE: just over 145,000 I purchased this car in Colorado in January 1996 and did a partial cosmetic restoration in 1998. Recently, I started a "freshen up" of the paint due to minor chips, dings, etc. from 15 years of enjoying the car but life got in the way. This is a solid and beautiful car that has been used for weekend driving, occasional car shows, cruise nights, and on other special occasions. The 390 is smooth, powerful, and a pleasure to drive. The most common compliment received over the years is on the beautiful triple blue color combination (exterior, top, and interior). This is not your typical red and white convertible. The car is complete and any restoration is factory correct - no cobbled-up modifications. There is nothing like driving a full size American convertible in the summer time. The restoration includes: front bucket seats and rear seat were reupholstered in the factory original color vinyl and style interior quarter trim panels were reupholstered to original factory specifications both sections of the padded dash were sent to Just Dashes in California for restoration new carpet added a new well liner new convertible top with glass window (factory optional blue rag top) the convertible top bows were sanded and repainted redyed the kick panels and repainted the console rebuilt the original clock with a modern quartz mechanism (works great!) repaired paint dings with partial paint as necessary no body work was required entire exhaust (2.25" pipe) from the manifolds back replaced in 1999 (good condition) installed a Pertronix Solid State ignition in 1998 transmission rebuilt in 1998 engine compartment is factory original (no aftermarket add-ons) Features 390 cu 4 bbl V8 correct factory Ford 4 bbl carburetor power steering power brakes automatic transmission working factory AM/FM radio (a rarity in '65) Ford accessory rear seat speaker with "studio sonic sound" (reverberator to simulate stereo effect) air flow controls to bring in fresh air power convertible top XL package only 9,849 '65 XL convertibles built two tone blue seats convertible boot included (good condition) paint color - Code Y (silver blue metallic) ORIGINAL & CORRECT COLOR!!! never painted any other color than original Condition This a great car that is fun to drive and show at cruise nights or other regional shows. The condition list is our attempt to be as complete as possible so there won't be any suprises. This convertible turns heads everytime we take it out on the road. People always stop, admire, and ask about it when we take it out for a spin. MILEAGE: just over 145,000 miles interior looks great NOT A SMOKERS CAR!!!! no tears or fade in the vinyl seats no cracks or fade in the dash (perfect condition) interior and instrument cluster is in good to excellent condition some fade on wood grain on the glove box (otherwise good condition) heater blows HOT - works great! original front and side window glass in good condition - no cracks convertible top works quiet and smooth tires are white wall and in good condition original factory XL wheel covers and wheels in good condition hood ornament is in good condition grill is clean, nice, and straight head and tail lights are in great condition step plates and Ford emblem in good condition peeling around driver’s side door key lock cylinder recent cosmetic restoration started on drivers front fender to repair chips and scratches (see photo) normal chips/dings on paint (intention was to start a complete paint restoration) overall paint condition is good - nice gloss small rust bubble under paint on the bottom rear corner of the driver’s door two small blisters in the paint on the left quarter panel above the wheel opening small hole in the left rear pillar of the convertible top (size of a pencil lead - pinched by zipper) convertible top shows minimal wear from being raised and lowered (good condition - vibrant color, no fade) chrome on front bumper is nice chrome on rear bumper shows some minor scratches (bumper is probably original to the car) right front fender name plate does not fit tight right front wheel opening molding has a slight flat spot normal and minor leaks for a 46 year old car History purchased in 1996 in Colorado with approx. 122,000 miles not the original owner (unsure of ownership history) partial cosmetic restoration in 1998 1,500 miles on average driven per year during ownership oil changes performed every 2,000 miles stored in a heated garage for the last 15 years (1996) previous owner stored the car in a garage as well recently started a "freshen-up" on the paint PAYMENT & SHIPPING - READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BID!!! $800 deposit required within 48 hours of auction close (via PayPal) Balance due within 7 days from the auction close (cash or cashiers/bank check only) Shipping arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer (do not ask for delivery or special concessions) We will be as flexible as possible with pick-up arrangements NO EXCEPTIONS TO THESE TERMS WILL BE MADE If payment terms are not met as outlined, we reserve the right to offer the vehicle as a "second chance offer" or relist Please do not make assumptions about this vehicle.
