Vehicle Detail

2001 Chrysler Sebring LX Electric Car Color: Silver Equipped with the Following: - Blue Window Dashboard Computer (displays the EV gauges on the LCD screen) – Battery Voltage, Battery Current, Battery State-of-Charge, and RPM - 7” in-dash LCD screen (DVD/CD/MP3/WMA/USB) with remote control (see pictures) - On-board automatic 110V charger (automatically turns off when charged) - Power windows, power locks, power seats, keyless entry - Electric Power steering - Automatic transmission - Seats 5 comfortably - No more oil changes or harmful emissions - New front headlights and wipers - Clear Texas Title (no liens) The car was professionally converted in 1/2010 by ATC. I bought it for neighborhood driving (not used for commuting since my daily commute was too long). It has been a fun car to own, but earlier this month the car’s controller (the Logisystems EV 144 volt controller) failed when I was driving. I did some research on the issue and it seems that this brand/model has had numerous complaints against it. The car needs another 144VDC controller, but I can’t afford it. Until it is replaced, it will not drive. I decided to sell the car because its just sitting in my garage taking space. New 144VDC controllers are around $1100. The batteries have about 150 EV miles of use (mainly used for nearby errands around town, groceries, etc). I live about 1 mile from the main shopping center, so the EV components have very few miles on them. It has been a great car and well taken care of. Below is some of the info given to me when I had the car converted to EV: Advantages of an EV include: 1) low cost of ownership, 2) low cost to operate when compared to gasoline, and 3) no need for regular engine oil changes. Best of all, this car never has to go to the gas pump again. At a fraction of the cost of other EVs being released (like the Tesla or Volt), this car easily meets the transportation needs of many urban-dwellers. So, whether this is the first, second or third car in your driveway, using this EV whenever possible for your shorter haul trips makes great economic and environmental sense. Other Features ? Front wheel drive ? 100% electrically driven, 144 VDC (24x 6VDC flooded lead-acid batteries in series) ? Throttle with microswitch ? Advanced Motors & Drives, FB1-4001A 9.1” Electric Motor Logisystems 144-156V 700A Motor Controller (adjustable top speed and acceleration) (Broken) ? Zero emission vehicle ? Charging: Aprox. 6-10 hours with 110VAC standard outlet (charging time depends on depth of discharge) ? Steel frame reinforcement for all batteries ? Brushless ventilation fan and vent for the trunk batteries. The fan turns on during charging and vents the trunk through a custom vent (looks like a muffler). ? All disc brakes with dedicated EV brake vacuum pump ? Trip odometer with compass ? 144V/12V DC-DC converter ? Circuit Breaker ? Recommended maximum range was 20-30 miles per charge. Maximum up to 50 miles in range at neighborhood speeds. ? Top speed was 65 mph when the Logisystems Controller was working. For best performance, an average speed of 30-40 mph was recommended (as higher speeds decrease range). THIS IS A LIMITED TIME OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE AN ALL-ELECTRIC Vehicle AT AN UNPRECEDENTED PRICE. SAVE THOUSANDS compared to other EVs. Don't be fooled by other electric vehicles for sale on Ebay that promise 20, 40, 60 mile or even higher range with fewer batteries. These are wishful estimates by the seller and will kill the battery pack (or at the very least give it a low life-span). CAR IS SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY (either expressed or implied). No returns accepted. The car has a clear Texas title. The state inspection is out of date as of April and needs to be renewed. Texas law only requires a “safety inspection” for non-gasoline powered vehicles (checking lights, brakes, etc.). Please check with your local laws if you live outside of Texas to see their state inspection requirements. The car also includes wiring diagram for self-service. The batteries have been well cared for and have had little use. They should have at least another 2 years of life left (depending on driving conditions, temperatures, proper maintenance, terrain, battery age, etc). The car is in excellent shape with only minor cosmetic damage (see pictures) given its age. There is something worth mentioning about the car. It has worked great and has not given me any problems until the controller failed earlier this month. However, as you can see in the picture the rear end of the car is lower than the front end due to the extra weight of the batteries. I regret not having a lift kit installed during the EV conversion process (they wanted another $800). It does not interfere with driving or Texas inspection requirements in any way, but it looks a bit off (cosmetic issue). Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and taxes. I can assist in arranging in door-to-door insured shipping nationwide. I require $500 down via Paypal with the remainder due within 7 days of auction close. I only take Paypal payments. I reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason (the car is also for sale locally). I have over $12k invested in this car and hate to see it go. Not expecting to get that much for it, and will accept the first reasonable offer. No lowballers please. Anyone with less than 10 feedbacks must email me first before bidding. Thanks for looking! I have done my best to represent this vehicle as accurately as possible as best I can. However, because of the nature of selling a used car, I am selling it AS-IS, in the condition it presently exists. I tried to take as many pictures of all the cosmetic issues. There are normal age-related scratches and small chips, some of which didn’t show well on camera. No warranty, returns, or refunds. Texas residents must pay an 8.25% sales tax. Please bid only if you are willing to accept these terms. Feel free to email with any questions. _____________________________________________________________________________________ This item is being relisted due to a non-paying bidder.
