LISTED LOCALLY AS WELL, AUCTION MAY END AT ANY TIME You are looking at my one of a kind 1968 Mercedes 280s W108 4 door, with a 1982 Mercury Capri 5.0 V-8 4 speed MANUAL trans and front sub frame. This has been my project cars for years and now it is time for it to go. In the last 24 months I... rebuilt the radiator and replaced hoses and thermostat, new water pump. rebuilt Autolite 4100 Carb (from a 1967 Ford T-bird) installed new fuel pump rebuilt 6G alternator from a 1999 Ford Taurus installed double roller Timing Chain and cover. installed later model 4bb aluminum. intake and aluminum valve cover from a 84 H.O Mustang, New Power steering hoses, I still have the Mercedes 14 inch wheels and the ford front 14 inch wheels and the hubcaps if you want that retro (sleeper) look. The windows, gauges heat and A/C do not work and the rear U-joint is starting to vibrate. Windshield is cracked The power brake booster leaks and the Battery only holds a charge for a few days (5 years old). This car needs very little work to be drivable and can be driven home locally (more with new U-joints). I would probably tow it more than 100 miles. The tires have over 50% tread left and still look good. the car will fire right up and drives great other than the above mentioned flaws. Body and paint are in good condition and only has minor blemishes the worst of which is the drivers rear door and the hood. Interior is in above average shape and the seats are still comfortable. I also have many extra parts that you may be interested in purchasing with the car, or if it sells for over 2K I will include all parts that I have for it. I used it as a daily driver last winter before it got too hot to drive it (windows are stuck up ;). the car does run and drives great, it just needs to be finished. I don't have the time and money to finish it and the city says that I have too many cars in my driveway. Keep watching my adds as some of my other classics may go up next. This car has been adult owned since the conversion, and has never been raced but IT IS FUN TO DRIVE Remember it has a Ford V-8, Ford 4 on the floor, and a Mercedes 391 rear gears. Very Fast. I believe this is a California car and is virtually rust free. It is currently registered and insured in California and is street legal and exempt form Smog. I am selling this car as is and where is.
