Vehicle Detail

THIS BIKE IS BEING RE-LISTED DUE TO A NON-PAYING BIDDER. SELLERS BEWARE OF BUYER: whatsinanamewhocares FROM MANITOBA CANADA. HE BIDS ON MULTIPLE BIKES, THEN DECIDES AFTER PLACING A BID THAT TRUMPS EVERYONE ELSE'S, THAT HE LIKES ANOTHER BIKE MORE, AND HE DOESN'T WANT TO HONOR HIS WINNING BID. HE ALSO FAILS TO RETRACT HIS BIDS KNOWING FULL WELL THAT HE MAY BE THE HIGH BIDDER. BIDDERS: IF YOUR BID WINS, YOU BUY THE BIKE. I EXPECT THAT YOU KNOW HOW EBAY WORKS, UNLIKE whatsinanamewhocares WHO EITHER DOES NOT KNOW HOW THIS WORKS, OR DOES NOT CARE. ANYONE WITH LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACKS PLEASE CONTACT ME. I AM NOT GETTING BURNED AGAIN, AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL YOUR BID IF I SENSE ANY INDICATION THAT THE TRANSACTION MAY NOT BE COMPLETED. THANK YOU, AND HAPPY BIDDING... Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for auction is my daily rider 1975 CB750k. I ride this bike every day that I can, and it has been extremely reliable. I have taken this bike on many long distance trips, with no issues. You may have seen it at Mid-Ohio, as I have ridden it there, loaded with camping gear the last 3 summers. I estimate that the bike has about 40,000 miles on it. I bought the bike (in stock form) about 5 or 6 years ago from Johnny Bova’s vintage cycle shop in Ohio, with about 20,000 miles on it, but I promptly removed the speedometer, tachometer, turn signals, and all the rest of that ugly factory junk. I installed a mini speedo, but the cable broke shortly after, and I never replaced it. That is why the mileage is estimated. I really don’t want to sell her, but financial issues force me to do so. I’m setting the reserve at what I think is reasonable, in fact, my friends think it’s too low, but I’ve gotta move this bike immediately. So my loss is your gain. You are bidding on a ready to go relatively clean machine with plenty of power. It has a clear Michigan title, and is ready to plate and ride. This bike is not for beginners, so if you are planning on buying this as your first bike, I’m not so sure I would recommend it. As you can see, the bike has been lowered 4 inches, and it sports clip-on bars. Not exactly optimum for the first timer. Please note that this bike does not have turn signals (wiring is still intact if you want to install some), nor does it have mirrors on the handlebars. Yes that little mirror does work for me, it definitely not optimum, but It’s mainly to keep the cops away, and it’s useful for merging onto the freeway. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS BIKE IS LOUD. If this is a problem for you or your neighborhood, don’t bid. It’s not just a little loud, It’s extremely loud. The open megaphones rival and usually trump any Harley’s exhaust note. This bike is also kick start only. It usually starts first kick, even in the winter and will idle at 600rpm with no problem after it warms up. The electric starter is still intact, but I just never installed a starter button because it kicks over so easily. As you can see, she’s no show bike or beauty queen, she’s a rider, but she does turn heads and draw questions everywhere I go. Yes the tank has dents. If you want, I will throw in a dent free tank that has the emblems shaved but needs paint. I had planned to put it on with fresh paint on it and the side covers, but I have no time for that now. This bike’s gotta go. Please bid with confidence. I’m not a rip-off artist, I will disclose any info you need to know about the bike. YOU CAN RIDE THIS BIKE HOME. I am listing this on my dad’s ebay account because he has a paypal account. You can check his feedback, and you can check mine. My ebay account is “pontiac56jazz” feel free to check my record. $500 DEPOSIT REQUIRED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION ENDING THROUH PAYPAL, BANK TRANSFER, OR CASH IN PERSON. BIKE MUST BE PAID IN FULL WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTION ENDING. PAYPAL OR BANK TRANSFER OR CASH UPON PICKUP IN DETROIT. I may be able to deliver bike if needed for a fee. I have a van and a trailer, or I can ride it to you, provided it’s not that far and I have the time. I can try to work with you. Now a little about the bike…. VINTAGE EARLY 70’S ITALIAN MENANI CLIP ON HANDLEBARS (bought n.o.s. 5 years ago still in box off ebay) Not easy to find, and not cheap if you do. NEW (two years ago) REMANUFACTUED YAMAHA FZR FRONT MASTER CYLINDER VINTAGE MAGURA CLUTCH LEVER VINTAGE MAGURA THROTTLE BIKE LOWERED 4 INCHES USING CB550 FORKS WITH 750 SPRINGS AND REAR LOWERING LINKS WITH NEW (three years ago) SHORTY SHOCKS FROM CYCLE X-CHANGE. NEWER DUNLOP D607 TRAILMAX (80/20) TIRES, 110/80 19 FRONT, 140/80/17 REAR. (’77 or ’78 17” REAR RIM) PLENTY OF TREAD LEFT, ONLY SAW A COUPLE OF SEASONS. NICE STICKY RUBBER. CUSTOM ALUMINUM EXHAUST CLAMPS VELOCITY STACKS AND OPEN MEGAPHONE PIPES WITH CARBS REJETTED TO MATCH REAR FENDER SHORTENED, FRAME TAIl SECTION CUT, FRONT FENDER REMOVED. SEAT FOAM CUSTOM CUT, REUPHOLSTERED. L.E.D. TAILLIGHT NEW (last year) SUNSTAR SPROCKETS 45 TOOTH REAR FOR A LITTLE MORE ON THE FREEWAY, STOCK FRONT. NEW (last year) GOLD TSUBAKI 530 QR NON O-RING CHAIN HELMET LOCK ON FRAME INCLUDED. The only things that are going to need attention in the future is that the bike would probably benefit from a new clutch, and it’s going to need new rear brake shoes. You could probably ride for another few years with them the way they are, but for optimum performance, you might want to replace these. Other than that, I can’t think of anything else except the bike leaves a little spot of oil about the size of a quarter underneath the kickstand when you park it. I think the oil drain plug gasket is weeping a tad. Like I said, I’m listing this on my dad’s ebay account, so if you have any questions, it might be quicker for me to respond by directing them to 1paulflis@gmail.com On May-03-11 at 21:57:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that I replaced the swingarm bushings with new brass units 3 years ago...
