1984 Suzuki RM

1984 Suzuki RM500E, nearly original, light restoration only. I am the 2nd owner. Bike had been only sedately trail ridden by the 1st from North Carolina. The bike was disassembled to the bare frame which was powder-coated along with the rear shock spring. When I acquired it, only the rear tire and airbox was not original. The aftermarket single-side airbox which had been on it was removed and used on another project. I mention it, only because the airbox and covers on the bike now are the originals and are unused. I've replaced the air filters, cables, sprockets, chain, spokes/nipples (stainless Buchanon),and have installed Dunlop GeoMax MX51 Intermediate tires with new tubes. I also replaced the faded plastic number plates with NOS parts. The rear shock has been professionally reconditioned by Y&S Racing in Arizona. New seals and fresh 10w fluid in forks. The cylinder is still on it's original standard bore with the original piston and ring. The cylinder was only flex-ball honed as it measured out well within proper tolerance. The clutch assembly shows no wear at all. Clutch cover, mag cover, cylinder and head were glass-beaded and repainted with PJ1. All new gaskets were used on reassembly. Each part has been inspected and cleaned prior to reassembly. The steering bearings and races are all excellent, clean and properly lubricated. Likewise are the articulating joints of the swingarm, cushion lever and struts. It really is a very nice bike and as near to original condition as one is likely to find. There is no title with this bike, but a bill-of-sale will be provided. May be able to deliver to AHRMA National events in Missouri, and other locations east of Mississippi River.
