Vehicle Detail

buyitnowpaymelots Store This is the last of the 30 vehicles being sold from an estate auction. We do consign other vehicles. More info is available at www.houseofmouseracing.com. This is a court-mandated auction to which terms must be strictly adhered. Please read terms and estate auction description carefully. A bid on this auction will serve as acknowledgment that these terms have been reviewed and are understood. No auctions will be ended early or sidestepped. No side deals or trades. (Please don’t ask – I won’t respond.) You are bidding on a 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Barn find. This is a family-owned car since new with the owner passing it to his son. This car appears to very much in original condition and has been sitting since the early 60’s in a garage. The speedo is showing 5,421.0 miles which I don’t believe is correct as some of the service lube tickets on the door jam show 58,000. The current title shows “No Miles” indicated. Since it was family-owned since new the car had never been to the BMV for a new registration since it was never sold to a different owner. The courts re-issued title for estate purposes since the owner is deceased. That is why there are no miles indicated. This is a clear valid Ohio title. It appears to be wearing the original black paint, chrome trim and original interior from the factory, hence the reason why it has not been washed or cleaned. It is left in its present as-found state to preserve its originality for the new owner. All that has been done to it was to remove all the junk stored in the car and a light vacuuming. I’m no expert on these years and I have tried to describe this car is accurately as I can. If you have questions please email as there are NO RETURNS. The Engine is a 216 ci engine with 90 hp which appears to be original from the air cleaner to the oil pan. The motor does not run or turn over by hand. No attempt was made to even install a battery since the age of the wiring might cause it electrical damage. It has the stock 6-volt electrical system. The transmission does go in and out of gear and the car does roll on the US Royal “Air Ride” 6.70-16 4-ply tires. The Body is in nice condition but is not museum quality. The body is straight and for the most part dent free. There are some scratches and rub marks with 1 rust spot on each side where the front fenders meet the body. There is also one spot just starting on the rear fender edge by the filler neck. The car has NOT been washed since the original paint has flaked off in very small specks over the entire surface. Where the paint is missing there is light surface rust. I’m afraid that washing it will activate the rust and pop off most of the remaining paint. I prefer just to leave it the way it is for the next owner. Bumpers are straight with only a couple of scratches. Bumpers have light rust to haze and will need to be rechromed. Most of the chrome trim has some degree of pitting, nothing that bad but will most likely will need rechromed. All the glass is in great shape with no cracks, even the seals still look good. Driver’s vent window has some delamination occurring. The driver’s door mirror is in good shape. It does need to be rechromed and the glass is good. The rear fender was stored in the car and has been temporarily refastened. That’s why it looks why it was repainted – but it was just stored in the car for the last 40 years. The Interior appears to be in original condition (Bedford Ribbed I believe – but may also be a Hampton-style interior – I’m not sure) and looks very good for its age. It is a 2-tone light brown/dark brown with tan kick panels and dark brown wood dash. The dash is in really nice shape. The wood is in very nice shape. Again, there are a few flaws. He glued a seashell on it. The gauges and clock are in nice original condition with some very minor hazing of the chrome. The gauges and instruments look like they are brand new with no fading or discoloration on the numbered gauge panel surfaces. The lettering for the controls is nice and bright, no fading or yellowing. Most of the control labels are in really nice condition – virtually no wear. Some of the controls to the right of the steering wheel will need a little more attention because they are not as nice but overall the dash is very nice. Steering wheel is in very nice shape with virtually no wear. Even the red lettering is still vivid in the center horn. The steering wheel is 2-tone in color, no fading or cracks in the wheel. The seats have no stains, rips, or signs of wear. They are very nice but due to their age the material is starting to show the signs of degradation in many places. The seats had cloth covers over them, which has kept them in nice shape over time. The door panels have no visible wear, damage or warping but the armrests have some minor discoloration and fading. There is some extra hardware for the panels in a box stored in the trunk. Carpeting/floor mats are starting to disintegrate in many areas. Just basic vacuuming was performed on the interior. The wood trim is in nice condition with some pieces needing surface restoration. Some professional cleaning will restore the shine to the metal pieces and other non-fabric pieces. The windows do operate as do the doors and hood release. Sorry no keys were found for this car. The Undercarriage is in very nice shape. The floors and frame look to be in good condition with some floor supports having some minor rust. It appears that it was driven in nice weather and nice roads during its history. The suspension looks good, car sits level and even from side to side. The tires have been holding air for years, which is surprising. I’m sure they will have flat spots from sitting for years. There is also a spare with a similar tire mounted on it. There appears to be a jack but not I’m sure if it’s correct or if all the pieces are there. Hanging in the trunk is the original instruction for changing the tire. Other info: Update: We now have two sets of keys. They are very old and worn. They will work but it takes some jiggling around to make them turn. Car comes with clear Ohio title.Due to space limitations and subsequent auction listings, the car must be paid for and picked up with in 7 days unless both parties agree on other arrangements. If the terms of this auction are not adhered to, the car will be immediately relisted. If you are requesting additional pictures please send me your email address. For information on more of the vehicles, please see our website at http://www.houseofmouseracing.com. Our contract states that all purchases must be transacted through eBay auction. No auctions will be ended early or sidestepped. There will be no side deals or trades. We were told that all of them ran and drove when they were parked in storage. Our listing represents the best of our knowledge obtained from transporting, cleaning and evaluating the vehicle – but there are no guarantees. There is no warranty or representation that the vehicle is drivable in its current state. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle during evening or weekend hours. After processing fees are deducted, the remainder of the proceeds from the sale of these vehicles will be donated to 501(c)3 charity Rustler Ranch, Inc.
