this is a 1963 1/2 galaxie 500 2 door hardtop. this was going to be in my ford collection, but a motorcycle i was trying to buy for the last few months just came up. i bought the car from the original family. the mother bought it new in 63, then the son bought it and stored it for years. it is now a good daily driver, and was used on regular drives. BODY: the body is pretty straight, having a dent in the passenger front fender. the car was originally color E viking blue. all the glass is uncracked. car has all the trim, and xl badges. rust in some common areas, as i would put lower patch panels on. doors shut very nice and tight, as does the trunk. looks like it was painted some time ago. keys still operate all locks. INTERIOR: has all the original un-messed with interior. no speakers or giant radio. just stock working am radio. temp speedo, and fuel gauge work. as do wipers, and hot working heater/ defroster. has a slight smell of antifreeze when heater is on, but did not notice any leaks. drivers seat is worn, but both front seats could use covers. rear has 1 area on back needing attention. door panels are nice, and lights work when drivers door opens on the door, and both rear interior lights, and under the dash. console in nice shape, dash has a few cracks. the headliner is just about perfect!!! DRIVETRAIN: has the 352 big block engine, still a 2bbl. the owner had the carb rebuilt, needs a different spring, but the engine sounds and runs great!! transmission was also rebuilt. has a full brand new duel exhaust system, with a nice sound. still has the original spare tire in the trunk. car has power steering. it is a pretty smooth car to drive, and i would even use it daily if needed. tires are just a bfg radial ta. looks like an old super stock, or nascar car from the 60's. ENDING: this is a nice xl to restore, or hot rod, and drive while you do the work. i was thinking of some torq thrust wheels. the blue and blue is a very nice color combo. i have the original owners manual with warranty info from the original denver dealer. i also have the original build sheet that was behind the glovebox. neat rare car with paperwork.
