This is a great vintage Hot Rod that sees strip and street time and it just has that awesome period look to it. The car was build using as many original and vintage parts as possible including heads, intake, carbs, air cleaners, volicty stacks, distributor, trunk mount battery cables, rear wheels, etc. It is a 4 speed car with a 1968 B-Body 3.54 geared Dana rear end to give it a bullet proof drive train. It drives to the track and reliably runs mid-12's. Click on the video below to see a 3 minute video of the car at the drag strip in 2007. Please note that the transmission has been rebuilt since then: The car has all original paint except for the front of the passenger quarter panel and a small spot on the trunk lid. The car is solid with no rust on it. Due to rubber floor mats the floor pans have been replaced and the 4 speed tunnel was added. Sub frame connectors were also added at the time and really help the stiffness of the car. This is a really good car as far as the body is concerned with none of the typical rust you see in the early B-Bodies. Interior is in fair original condition in keeping with the nostalgic/rat rod look of the car. The Dodge also has a Harm's Automotive aluminum Hemi hood scoop. The car runs excellent and is a blast to drive. It has a 70 440 short block with forged flat top pistons. It has original 63 Max Wedge heads and intake that look awesome on top of the 440. The motor also has original 64 3705 carbs on it with original air cleaners and volicty stacks. It has fender well headers with a removable cap on the exhaust so you can run open headers or a closed system going down the road. The car has 11 inch drum brakes all around and stops from 112 MPH very reliably. It has newer aluminum skinny torque thrusts on the front with 7.75 15 inch reproduction tires with early 15x6.5 inch over the counter max wedge wheels. The tires are Hurst recap cheater slicks that have that 60's block look. The Dodge was originally a 318 poly 3 on the tree car. It has a 1968 B-Body 3.54 geared Dana 60 rear end in it and a 23 spline ball and trunion 4 speed. The rear end is set forward about an inch in the chassis and has original 1964 Max Wedge leaf springs from Melrose Motors in LA. The car has a modern scattershield with an 11 inch clutch. The battery has also been moved to the trunk using original Race Hemi battery cables. Please e-mail or call us (360-705-0943) to set up an appointment to see the car. The car is at Rocket Restorations located in Olympia, Washington, which is about an hour south of Seattle, Washington. This is owner Mike Volz's personal car and all work performed by him. He is selling off some projects to buy another car. Some other projects for sale include a 1966 Hemi Coronet 440, two 1969 Road Runners , a 1968 Road Runner and a 65 Coronet 500 that are all original 4 speed cars. Contact us if you are interested in any of the other cars. Every effort has been made to make an accurate description of this car, but some things were probably missed. It is a 45 year old car, brand new cars break down right off the dealer lot, so please do not assume it is 100% mechanically perfect. We would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere but the cheater slicks are not fun in the rain. We accept Money Orders, Cashier's Check, Wire Transfer or Cash in Person. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit must be made within 48 hours of the auction ending. Payment is to be made within fourteen days of the auction finishing.
