You are bidding on a 1961 Silver Hawk, 99,000 original miles. One of a kind, special order with brass plaque on glove box stating ‘Custom Built For’ Hawk 0878. This car has been owned by one family since 1961. Always garage kept. Has current NYS inspection/registration. Color is Autumn Haze. Serial number 61VI5I25. Car was custom built because the original purchaser is very short (4’9”), so she had the seat brackets moved closer to the steering wheel. She also liked the fender lights that were on the 1957 Stude Hawk and had this car built with them as well. Engine is original 289 V8, 2Bbl. Was rebuilt in 1976. Runs well. Front fenders are fiberglass, from a restoration in 1976/77 which included repainting (baked on enamel in original Autumn Haze), reupholstering the front seats. Has all original chrome, which is in great condition. This car has power steering, Twin Traction, Dual Exhaust (including original tail pipe extensions) and automatic transmission. Last driven 4/24/2011. It is missing the original radio and the heater doesn’t work. There are some areas of rust on the lower body passenger side.
