Vehicle Detail

Hi and thank you for your interest in this great car: ~Up for auction is my 1967 Chrysler Town & Country Station Wagon~ 1967 Chrysler Town & Country 6-passenger Station Wagon, I've since the 1980's and it was purchased from the original owners family. It was a local car that lived on our block since I was a kid, so I've been around this noble old car since it was purchashed brand new from Scotch Motors! When I was a kid this a very "Chrysler Neighborhood" with almost everyone owning some sort of Mopar on our block. My parents purchased a brand new 1968 New Yorker from the same dealer a few months after Gus bought the wagon. The New Yorker is gone but the wagon remains. The original owner, Gus, would load the neighborhood kids in the car and take us to Carvel and after we got back he would wash and vacumn the car in his garage. This car has been garaged since it was new and the chrome, body and glass are all in great condition. He would wax the car a few times a week and from doing that he rubbed all of the body creases and lines down to metal, and he would oil the chrome and use a squirt bottle to spray oil on the frame and front end, so everything is in very good condition. I've had the car repainted in it's original Saphire Blue Met color. It was repainted 20 or 25 years ago and still shines. There is no hail damage or a single dent on the long flat roof, which is rare for such a flat surface. When she was repainted I had some door dings on the lower body removed and I also had the front seat re-upholstered with the 100% correct vinyl which is no-longer available anywhere at anyprice and it's not being re-produced. The front and rear rugs were also replaced when the seat was done with factory correct loop and heal pad. It has a 383 motor with a two barrel carb coupled to a 727 trans. The motor has NO ticks or problems that I'm aware of and the trans shifts smoothly but should have a new pan gasket sometime soon. The tires are Remington L-78x 15 and she wears very rare factory correct small center caps. When was the last time you ever saw these hubs? In 2000 it was the featured Show-Car or the Scranton Region AACA annual carshow, and it appeared on posters and on the brass dash plaque that was given to the 200 plus show attendees. It is a base model Town & Country wagon and it's only real options are the burled walnut dash trim and the power rear window and power steering. No Air Conditioning, No fake wood, No luggage rack, and no ugly bumper guards. This is a great car and will be a treasured addition to any Chrylser or wagon collectors stable. I think that the car will also need a new altenator and small balast block on the firewall. It's been throwing a heavy charge and they are most likely the culprits. I may have a spare re-buildable alt here that will go along with the car if I can find it. It also is missing a piece of front fender chrome that has been missing since I bought the car. (see photos.) Please ask any and all question that you may have because there are no returns or refunds on this car. It has been covered in my garage for years and started every now and then as well as just a quick run around the block so It will need to be picked up on a trailer just because it's been sitting for a while. Summer is coming and this car will be THE ultimate cruiser! These cars are getting very hard to find in this preserved condition. Please don't miss the opportunity to own this sweet ride! The chrome has a light coat of wax on it and will shine up like new with no pits or rain water stains on the bumpers in the usual spots. The engine baay has been detailed and looks great. Also there are no frame problems that I'm aware of. This car has NO Guarantee and NO Warranty, either expressed, written, implied or offered and is being sold 100% as is-where is and it will be the new owners total resposibility to arrange transport. It's important that this car goes to a good home, it would make a great company advertising car or look great parked on a beach with a surf board. The vintage coolers and suitcase and other items are not included but may be bought by the new owner. This is a 7 day reserve price auction, however please feel free to make an offer. A non-refundable $500.oo deposit is due 48 hours after the close of the auction with the balance due within 72 hours, unless prior arrangement is made and agreed to by the seller or the car will be re-listed. On Apr-24-11 at 17:55:24 PDT, seller added the following information: *Please note that the indoor garage pictures don't do the actual saphire blue color any justice. I'll pull the wagon out into the sunshine sometime on Tuesday and take some other pictures. She has been covered and in storage for some time and is a little dusty, but like the classy lady she is, a little polish and she'll be the "Belle of the Ball" once more. Thanks again, mikeOn Apr-26-11 at 19:40:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I took many more pictures today of the car in the bright sunshine but I'm having trouble replacing the exsiting photos here in the listing. The new pics due the car the justice it deserves. Please email me and I'll be happy to send them off to you. Hopefully I can get it figured out by the morning ... I windexed the thin coat of wax off and it looked fine when I took the picture. There is nothing wrong with the chrome... thank you.
