Over the years Rick has created one of San Clemente’s most legendary eateries and his taste in Automotive Hot Rodding is almost as good as his ribs. His classic custom painted flamed-out Yellow Panel Truck has graced our town and beaches for many years with his logo on the side. That little car is icon around these parts. Rick had been dreaming about building a Highboy for many years and one day with the help of Rays Automotive in San Clemente he got inspired to build it. When he and Ray laid out the plans for this ’29 Highboy he had two goals in mind: expressing his personal vision of what a hot rod should be and make it really FAST!!! The project started about three years ago with a real steel bodied 1929 Ford Model A Body. He married that with brand new TCI “Deuce” Rails made specifically for this build. Everything was put together to the highest quality and professionally built at Ray’s Automotive. The engine is a ’91 350 bored to 355. This was a no expense sparred creation that exudes quality; from the installation of a Custom Rear Sedan Delivery Door to the gorgeous Walnut Wood Ribbed Trim on the Ceiling and everything in between. This ride ROCKS. The Body wrap is a deep pale of stunning PPG Black 2 Stage Paint with Candy Apple Green Flames. The body work is very high-quality with a mirror like finish. You would be proud to show this baby at any rod meet anywhere in the Country. The car is sensational and has very limited miles since completion about a year ago. The dust and dirt would simply eat it up. It is just too nice. So the reality is he is probably going to rat rod something up down the road to replace this gorgeous Custom Rod.
