Up for Auction is a 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe. This is a unfinished project with lots of potential. .... I'm selling this car for a friend who is the second owner and was left to my friend by her grandmother who was the original owner. Its an original California car and has 161,385 miles on it. She tells me she drove it for about a year, but the motor was a little tired and someone backed into the front fender at the supermarket so she put it in the garage and it sat there for a number of years. Her dad who was a mechanic retired and started working on it and it looked like he had big plans for it from what I can tell and was told. He passed away a few years back and its sat in her garage since. The machine work on the motor was done by Tayor Engine Building.......in So Cal. and has 0 miles on it. She has lots of receipts for the parts and work done and also some prints/photos. I've gone over the body with a magnet on the primered spots and found no bondo which she had told me there was non (making sure!). The car looks to be complete minus the front stone deflector which was going to be replaced with a fiberglass one. Plans were to install a duck tail on the rear with Shelby type taillights (65 T-bird) that are already installed.(orig.tailights are included) The front grill chrome parts are all there and also are included. (weren't going to be used on this restore) Interior will need to be replaced (seat covers, headliner, carpet etc.) I could find no rust on this car, but didn't want to tear up the carpet. Trunk area looks clean as does the rocker panels and the bottom of the doors. I've tried to describe this car to the best of my ability and want the new owner to have zero surprises. The owner can't find the original pink slip for it, but the title is free and clear, so it comes with a bill of sale and related paperwork in her name as she IS the regristered owner. Built orig. 289 small block, 30 over and 10 over on the crank-has Keith Black hyperkinetic popup pistons shaved for a final ratio of about 10.5-1, power seal rings, all was mag'ed., 3-angle valve job and hand lapped, cambers were all cc'd, ported/polished and port matched (intake/exhaust) roller rockers, 280 comp. cam, roller chain, harmonic balancer, melling hi-flow oil pump, windage tray, deep sump oil pan, vintage torker intake, holley dual feed 700cfm carb. and complete new engine compartment wiring harness, hoses, belts and 2 setts of indexed spark plugs. The motor will need valve covers (heads have been tightly covered and car has been garaged), headers and exhausts, carb needs rebuilding and a good ignition system ,msd or mallory. Trans has a new torque converter with a higher stall speed and front seal replaced. The front end has been completely rebuilt from the wheel bearings, seals, drums, shoes, whl.cyl.s, hardware and hoses, ...new ball joints, urethane bushings, HD coils, 1 1/8" frt. sway bar, KYB gas shocks and tierod ends, idle arm bushing, P.S. system has been completely rebuilt with new hoses, rubber mounts and remote cooler. The trans, driveshaft and rear end have not been touched and were in good shape when parked from what I'm told. It comes with new rear wheel bearings, seals, brake shoes, whl. cyl.s, hardware kit and a rear sway bar with all the parts and KYB gas shocks.
