1966 Pontiac GTO Hard Top * Bucket Seats * Rally Rims This GTO that you see before you has lived its entire life in the southern climate. It was purchased in South Carolina and basically has lived there all its life. This car has a 389 4-speed and has been upgraded to a turbo 400 automatic transmission. If you have ever driven a GTO with the automatic Chevy power glide that comes from the factory you will know that the turbo 400 upgrade is exactly what the doctor ordered. Just to clarify, this car was a four speed and has been upgraded to a turbo 400 automatic transmission. Seller had said that a Reproduction Window Sticker and other documentation will come with the car. However I was not able to upload as a photo. It is said that every car has its color that it looks best in and I don't think that many people would disagree that this has got to everybody's favorite color for GTO in Reef Turquoise. This car is equipped with bucket seats and console, rally rims and four new BF Goodrich tires. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt along with a new carburetor, new fuel pump and new universal joints. Note: seller says that there is a slight crack in the driver's seat. When it comes to costs of GTO's, the owner has set this car at such a moderate reserve that just about anybody can have a GTO. This is a rare opportunity to get a GTO that has lived its life in the south, has the powerful GTO engine that can have its power converted to the wheels with a transmission that means business. The top of the quarter panel by the rear window and has bubbling and the owner is not sure if it is the paint or not. You can see by the overall appearance of the car and the way all the seams line up that this is a car that will stand tall at any car show. You can see from the pictures that the underside is not your Chicago/Detroit snow and rust underside but has the true appearance that you only find in southern cars. Check out the immaculate engine compartment and you will know that there are not many GTO's that have one that is near as nice.
