this auction is for a very nice 67 fairlane, two door coupe. it is the base line model. let me start by saying that i purchased this car with the intention of putting a 390, 4-speed, bucket seats and console in it. the car is so nice and original that i could not bring myself to do it. the car is 71000 original miles. the body is as streight as an arrow. the bumpers and ALL the trim is in very good comdition. tail lites, head lite doors, grill, side trim are in super condition. the 289 runs great. no smoke, stranges noises, or leaks. the trans shifts as it should, smooth. the brakes are fine. no pulling to either side. no noises or problems with the rear end. steering is tight. (no power steering or brakes) the body appears to have been painted some time ago. still holding up well. shines nicely. there a few SMALL nicks in the paint. no dents. windows go up and down fine. dash pad dose have cracks. there are no signs that there was ever any wrecks. there is no rust on the body that i can notice. trunk is clean with no rust. it has the orignal matt , spare tire and complete correct jack assembly. the underside has some normal surface rust that you would expect from any old car. but nothing through. (no rust holes) the engine compartment is all original and not freshened up. (i was going to change the engine) no grease fitting holes in the shock towers. it will need a new exhaust. it is getting noisey. there is no tail pipe. every thing works on the car with the exception of the radio and interior overhead lite. all the dash, signals. head lites, parking lites, wipers, heater (it will drive you out) work fine. even the cold engine lite works fine. parts that have been reciently installed are: new front coil springs and shocks, rear shocks, points, condenser, plugs, plug wires, dist cap, rotor button, door seals and windshield. doors open and close fine. all locks and keys are working fine. car starts and runs great. carb has a hesitation and might need a kit or simple adjustment. car drives down the road at 50 with no wandering or pulling of the breaks. i have only driven it a short ways due to the fact it is not registered or insured. door dater plate is correct for the car vin matches the vin number on the radiator support. the dater plate indicates that it was a domestic special order car. the DSO is not two numbers as is standard. it is six. also the rear axel rarto is listed as an O. no idea what that is.
