This vehicle has been in the same family since new. It underwent a semi-restoration in the early 1980s and at that time the original engine was replaced with a rebuilt engine from an identical 1968 Impala Convertible. Vehicle has been in dry storage for the past 5 years but recently was taken to a GM dealership in Brentwood, TN for inspection. The vehicle is in running condition but does need some work done to it before it can be driven. At the present time it can be moved around the parking lot but is not ready to be driven on the road.I took this to a dealership for inspection and repair, telling them I wanted it made in road worthy condition. The following is what they came back to me with in terms of needed repairs. It is possible there are some other minor items that might need to be addressed but I was told everything else looked good and wasn't in immediate need of repair. The convertible top needs replacing, the transmission requires a reseal kit (involves removing the transmission to fit the kit), the brake system needs a complete overhaul (the fluid has crystallized due to sitting in storage so it will need new lines, master cylinder and other related parts), it needs a new radiator and will require also some exhaust work (manifolds look good but mufflers are bad). Tires appear to be in good condition and are not dry rotted but most likely have some flat spots due to storage which may or may not smooth out after use. To my knowledge all of the electrics work except for the A/C, which I believe is a minor wiring issue in the engine bay. Exterior condition is average, some dents and dings, a few surface rust spots where paint has chipped off, chrome isn’t perfect and the front bumper is a bit tweaked. Interior is in decent condition, dash is a bit cracked and there are some tears in the stitching on the front seat.Vehicle is being sold as-is so if you have any specific concerns please contact me.
