Vehicle Detail
You are viewing a used Volkswagon bus that I have for sale. I bought this at a local car auction. It was a restoration project that was never finished! I have seen a lot of projects like this where the person finds out that it is a lot easier to take something apart than it is to put it back together! It sits around a while and then they get tired of looking at it so they donate it to a car donor non-profit just to get it out of the driveway and keep the neighbors happy. Here is what I know about it: The inside is almost completely taken apart. I do not know if everything is there or not. The pedals are still in place and the steering wheel is still in place so you can steer it and put it in neutral to move it around. The brakes work as well. The odometer reads 52291 miles and I have no way to verify if those are correct or not. It has a rear air cooled engine and a automatic transmission. I have not tried to start it, but I did turn the engine over by hand to verify that it was not stuck. The engine and the driveline parts all look to be in place and complete. It does not have a battery with it. One of the tires goes flat, but the rest stay up. The flat one takes air and will stay up long enough to load it. At one time I think it was used as a camper as it has a raised fiberglass type roof and there is a water tank of some sort inside the van and there is a propane tank installed under the bus that appears to have been used for a heater or a stove. The seats are in the van but are a tacky color and are in poor condition. The outside of the bus has been somewhat stripped of its paint. There are rust spots as you can see in the photos. This bus needs a lot of work! You are buying it that way with no guarantees whatsoever. You are welcome to come look at it before the auction ends. I can store it for free up to six months and I can help push it onto a trailer or whatever you send to pick it up with. I bought this van to scrap it, but as these are getting scarce, I thought I would see if it would sell here on ebay first. It has the larger bus engine that is great for a dune buggy. I have a local trucking company that I highly recommend that you call if you need a quote on having larger items like machinery and large trucks hauled to you. They are DAB Transport and their phone number is: (816)230-4135. They are located in Odessa, Missouri, and are just all around good folks to deal with. They are equipped to deal with about anything you need hauled, including tall bucket trucks and heavy machinery. I am located 100 miles West of the St. Louis airport, 10 miles off Interstate 70 at the Kingdom City exit #148 in Fulton, Mo, 65251. If you buy a vehicle from me and want to drive it home, there is a nice shuttle service that runs between the Kansas City (KCI) airport and the St. Louis (STL) airport. It is called: MO-X. They make a stop at my exit on I-70 at a McDonalds restaurant to pick up and drop off passengers. I can meet you in Kingdom City with your vehicle purchase so you can drive it home. There is also a local license bureau where you can buy a one way trip permit temporary tag if you want one. PAYMENT AND AUCTION REQUIREMENTS Do not ask me to sell it early, or take less than the starting price. I will not end the auction for a local sale either. I can load it onto anything that you send to pick it up. Delivery for an additional fee is a possibility within 250 miles of Fulton, Mo, 65251. E-mail me for a quote. I have a neighbor kid that helps me on the farm that will deliver stuff sometimes. I require payment in full within one week of auctions end. Once it is paid for, there is no hurry for you to pick it up - take six months if need be! If you don't come get it after six months have passed since the end of the auction, it will be resold, and my wife gets the proceeds. If you have a legitimate reason why you need to wait longer than six months to pick up your purchase, contact me and we will work something out. If you have any questions, you can e-mail or call me at (573) 219-6611. Thanks for looking and please check out my other auctions! LOCAL PICK UP I am a cattle farmer here in Mid-Missouri, so I am flexible about when you want to come and get items you have purchased from me, but I try and keep a schedule for my families benefit. I ask that you come between 9:00 in the morning and 4:00 at night. I am not available on Sundays whatsoever - that is God and family day, so don't ask! Just because I am a farmer does not mean that I am here everyday, I travel around to auctions and surplus sales and am gone several times a week. So don't do like some folks have in the past and drive 800 miles to get here and find out I am gone. You must contact me before you just show up! My granny always said that showing up unannounced was rude - you have to give people notice so they can get presentable. CONTACT ME If you have any questions about this item, or about delivery or shipping, you can call me or email me. Don't be shy! The only stupid question is the one you are afraid to ask. I prefer email as it lets me answer questions at night when I am not busy and it gives me time to find the right answer to your questions. I also run tractors and skid loaders here on the farm and a lot of times I do not hear my phone. I also live in a rural area and in a lot of places I do not get phone service. One of the places I do not get good coverage is in my shop! So if you can't get me on the phone, try back later or better yet, send me an email and I will get back with you. You can send me an email through ebay or you can send it to me directly to: olivetroad@gmail.com My cell phone number is: (573)219-6611 Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! On Apr-02-11 at 18:04:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to a nice person out in ebay land - I got to looking and the rear roof of this bus lifts up in the air about two feet and there is a cool place there that makes a bed! It has a flat floor and a door that you can fold down once you are up there to make it long enough to stretch out on and sleep. There are fabric sides that go up with the roof and they have zippers on them that allow you to open the sides up for vents if you want to. There is then a fabric screen to keep out the bugs. The pop up roof thing is in good condition and so is the fabric. I took several photos of the roof and I tried to load them onto this listing, but it is already full of photos, and it won't let me delete any as there is already a bid on it. If you want to see a photo of the roof/bed thing, email me and I will send you one. My email is: olivetroad@gmail.com
