Vehicle Detail
I bought this car to restore, it is solid, unfortunately Walt who does all my restoration work died a few months ago of cancer. The car has had 3 owners counting me. The original owner bought it new and drove it everyday to work until she died in 2002. The second owner left it uncovered. I bought it about 2 years ago. The pictures have been taken to show all the bad spots. The car runs perfect, all gauges and signals work correctly and the tires are very good. This car has very little rust and has never been wrecked. It was painted once in the 80s. The radiator weeps a little but does not over heat, see picture. The car comes with the original owners manual and a shop manual. Since I have had the car I have put U joints in it. When I first got the car the muffler fell off, I had it tack welded at the front joint and it leaks a small anount. I have driven the car to Orlando twice, 105 miles one way. I drove the car regularly until this past October 31 when the tag expired. The car has never given me any problems. Heater works. I was going to put it back stock but it would make a great street rod too. I took the front seat cover down so you could see the original wore out seat cover. I also pulled the rug up in the trunk to show the surface rust from a small leak on the drivers side rear windshield. I have included a picture of the tire well from underneath, it is original and has a little rust but is not rusted through. The tire well being original means this car has very little rust. The car will need a window kit, an interior, minor body work and a paint job to make it right. There is a $200 deposit required through Ebay, it is non refundable. I will consider trades for a military vehicle, possibly a bobbed duece and a half, M37, etc. I reserve the right to close the auction if a trade is made. The reserve on the car has been set at $4600, If you win it I will store it for up to a month without charge, at your risk as there is no valid tag or insurance on it, until you can pick it up. I think the fire wall is light green but I guess it might be white, I am just not sure. The milage is original as is the motor and transmission. The car has valid Florida title in my name. I am the 3rd owner. If you want a real piece of Americana, this is it. Please Pray for our Troops, God Bless America. On Feb-11-11 at 14:13:01 PST, seller added the following information: The vehicle has a current Florida title in my name, I am the 3rd owner.
