Up for auction is a used 1996 Mercury Villager. It is metallic beige with a great flame paint job and a tan interior. Drives well. It was originally my parents, who put only 55,000 miles in the 9 years that they owned it. I've had it 5 years, have maintained it well and have records. Mileage now is 105,675. It has a nice sounding JVC CD/MP3/FM/AM stereo with a detachable faceplate and an external jack for an iPod. Four Sony speakers are at the corners. The $800 flame paint job, pinstriping and Von Dutch design on the rear was professionally done by Lenny at Syndicate Automotive Concepts in San Diego, a top notch customization shop. The flames are in excellent condition as the van has been garaged its whole life. Contrary to what the stickers on the driver door and rear say, it does NOT have a HEMI. This has fooled many people however and is always a good laugh. This van has been primarily a soccer shuttle and has been fun for us to drive as everyone in our neighborhood waves to us as we go by. Little boys stop in their tracks to stare at it. Grown men take photos of it on the freeway. You get the idea. • • • MAINTENANCE HISTORY & CURRENT CONDITION • • • I've performed regular maintenance over the years and have the records. The oil was changed roughly every 3,000 miles. NEW front brakes have only 8,500 miles on them. NEW front tires have only 5,000 miles on them. Rear tires have only 8,700 miles on them. I think the Bosch battery is less than two years old. Has had shocks replaced, new struts, rotors, calipers. A/C has been recently recharged and works great. Lately there's a fan belt noise that sometimes appears when starting up, then goes away. This is a 14 year old car and it's been well taken care of but don't expect it to be like new. The interior is in very good condition, only minor cosmetic flaws, the carpets are good but do have some minor stains, nothing major that couldn't be cleaned. The rear wiper does NOT work. It passed a recent CarMax inspection which you can see. I do encourage you to do your own inspection or have an independent mechanic do one. The only real cosmetic flaw on the exterior is on the rear bumper where there's a gash (from running into my neighbor). • • • SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY.
