Vehicle Detail

1949 Ford Woodie...always garaged! I found this car in Southern CA, Old Towne Orange to be exact, in a local gas station/garage parked along the side of the repair shop. After talking to the owner, found out he had bought it from an estate sale in Las Vegas, NV and he was not really interested in selling it. It took some negotiating but I finally convinced him to sell me the car! The last time the car was registered was in 1967 so it had sat since that time. The car was 100% complete but in dire need of restoration...a real "barn find"! I started the restoration project about 6 months later and completely disassembled the car down to the frame. The wood was salvagable and I wanted to keep as much of the original wood as possible including the interior door panels. Body was walnut shell blasted and needed minimal repairs to rocker panels. Floor was in excellent shape. Wood was completely refinished with only three (3) original pieces replaced. Gauges are original, all work and were redone to 12 volt. Original steering wheel, column shift connected to automatic trans, and clock (not working). Remote controlled AM/FM CD player mounted under front seat. Vintage air and heat in car both work great. Seats are upholstered in tan leather and car has all three (3) seats (rear seat is usually missing but not in this woodie!). Carpet is Mercedes wool. All new tinted glass and rubber. All chrome has been refinished. All holes in firewall filled and detailed. Car was painted with two stage paint (VW Beetle Mellow Yellow), color sanded and buffed. Car was completed in 2008. Always garaged and a great driver. Invested about $85k in this car. Has 2000 miles on build which took approximately 3 years to complete. This is a great buy and good investment that will increase in value over the years. Shows quality of workmanship and materials not seen in today's cars. 8" 350 POSI 335hp - 350 Chevy Small Block Power Disk Brakes/front - Drum Brakes/rear 605 Power steering box Fatman spindles Spare tire w/cover Wheels by Wheelsmith w/BF Goodrich tires New gas tank I am selling this car because I have a 1947 Ford convertible which is my next project and need the room.
