Please read EVERYTHING below before placing a bid, and make sure to contact me with any and all questions you may have before placing a bid! I will answer your questions in a prompt manner and will send further photos if requested. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE! Up for auction is a super rare, OEM 1999 BMW M3 Coupe specified at factory build as closely to the ultra rare, super expensive 1995 M3 Lightweight as possible without the stinging premium! To shed weight and deliver the purest driving experience possible, this car was built with: û NO sunroof, û NO rear decklid spoiler, û NO power or heating for the “Vader” seats, û NO CD changer, û NO high-fidelity sound system, û NO cruise control, û The most basic computer control interface - only including a temperature gauge, û A 5-speed manual transmission. It’s about as light and focused as the E36 M3 comes! About this car: ü I am the third owner of this car. ü At the current mileage of 136,787, and starting from the first registration date of 10/15/1999, this car has averaged only 11,981 miles a year – well under the industry average of 15,000. ü This car is not modified in any way, with the exception of a K&N panel filter insert for the engine air intake system (if that can really even be called a mod). ü The interior is in very good condition considering its age, with no tears in the awesome “M” edition “Vader” seats. They are incredibly supportive and are arguably some of the best seats ever put in a road-going production car! They do show normal wear in the way of some chafing along the edges of the bolsters, and there are a few marks on the front and rear seats, but nothing too noticeable. The floor mats are practically brand new, and the front two are embroidered with the “M3” logo. The door panels have some normal minor scuffing, and three of the pixel rows are “burned out” on the computer interface screen. ü The radio is the original BMW “Business” AM/FM with cassette player and works just fine! As mentioned before, there is no CD changer. It can be purchased from BMW or from other aftermarket sources and is an easy install, as the car comes prewired for it. ü The wheels are original BMW “M Contour” design and are in good condition, with the exception of light curb rash on sections of the outer lips. ü The tires are staggered from the factory, with 225/45/17’s up front and 245/40/17’s in the rear. The car is currently equipped with matching Fierce (a subsidiary of GoodYear) Instinct ZR All-season tires front and rear. The fronts have 80-90% tread remaining. The rears have 25-30% tread remaining. The staggered layout prohibits one from rotating front to rear to extend the rear (or driven wheels’) tires’ longevity. ü This car tracks straight and pulls strong. ü The clutch is in great condition and has good feedback. ü The car returns 24 mpg at 70 mph on the highway. ü A/C blows cold. I don’t like surprises and I’m sure you don’t either, so here is the less glamorous information about this car: Ø This car has been in TWO accidents that I know of. According to the CarFax report (I will provide you with a printed copy at purchase), it was “involved in a collision with another motor vehicle” in the state of NY in April of 2008 while owned by the second owner. It does not mention what damage was done or how extensive. This vehicle was involved in a minor accident this winter when it slid off the road after hitting black ice and struck a very small tree (about three inches in diameter). It sustained relatively minor damage to the right side and was able to be driven from the scene without any problems after being towed from the snow on the shoulder. The airbags DID NOT deploy! Ø Unrelated to the aforementioned incident, the SRS Warning Light is on in the instrument panel. It came on about a month before the accident. I had the car scanned and it shows it being the result of an “open circuit” in the right/passenger front seat belt buckle switch. I simply never got around to having it fixed. Ø The aforementioned body damage (which can be seen in the pictures) was not repaired. As such, the car has a sizeable dent in the passenger-side front fender, a crease that runs from the rear of the passenger-side door to the front of the rear wheel arch, some rust on the door above the crease, a dent at the top of the passenger-side A-pillar, and some creases in the passenger-side C-pillar. The front bumper cover/fascia also sustained damage. The passenger side is bowed out slightly, and there is a black scuff above the fog light. Both fog lights popped out upon impact and are currently held in place with double-sided gray molding tape. They both work, but need new plastic retaining clips. The lower air splitter and plastic undertrays are being held securely in place with zip ties, as some of the plastic retainers snapped. The passenger-side front rubber wheel-arch seal is absent, and the plastic arch insert rubs the tire during tight turning at low speed. The passenger-side mirror popped off and needs the wires reconnected to restore the power function. Ø There are a couple of “normal” wear-and-tear related dents and scratches, but most are not very noticeable. Ø This car is a northern car, and as such it does have some rust. There are a few relatively small spots where the rust is “bubbling up” under the paint. There is a spot at each of the upper corners of the windshield weather seal. The fuel filler lid is rusty on the inside and shows some rust on the outside. There is also a spot below the filler lid on the bottom of the rear quarter panel. There is another spot on the driver’s-side of the wrap-around of the nose panel that supports the kidney grilles. There is also some rust where the water drains onto the rocker sills, and on the rear side-vent-window seals. There is also rust underneath on the rear diff and carrier assembly, and on the lift points. Ø This car uses a quart of oil about every 1,500 miles. This is actually pretty normal for these cars. You just have to check it every third fill up and make sure to keep her topped off. Ø The pads and rotors were replaced all around about 4,000 miles ago but ever since the car sat for a week and a half at one point this winter, they’ve never been the same. Some rust built up on the rotors and ever since they’ve pulsed under sustained braking. The pads have 90% remaining. This M3 comes with the owner’s manual and factory books, and three keys (including plastic valet key). The title is clear with no liens on it. Selling as I’m preparing to move and can’t take more than one car with me. This car is being sold in “AS-IS” condition, and there is NO remaining factory warranty. Seller makes no guarantees as to this car’s future performance and offers no warranty either expressed or implied. This car will NOT be delivered, and it will be the sole responsibility of the buyer to take possession of it, or arrange pick-up/delivery by a third party as necessary. This car will not be considered for trade, so NO TRADE REQUESTS PLEASE! There is a reserve appropriate for this car’s rarity and overall condition. $250 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit must be received within 48 hours through PayPal, and balance MUST be received in cash (NO EXCEPTIONS!) within 10 days of auction’s close at time of pickup! Please take this into consideration given your distance from McHenry, MD and the necessary arrangements you will have to make to inspect the car (or have someone else such as your shipping service inspect it, which will be binding) within 10 days’ time from the end of the auction. Winner/Buyer (or their shipper) will be allowed to test-drive the car before making a final decision. However, I absolutely will not allow a test drive unless you are fully prepared to own the car should ANYTHING happen during the test drive! So, please take this into consideration before bidding, and come prepared to show a valid operator’s license. Please note I will NOT provide license plates, transit tags or otherwise to Buyer. Either bring a transit tag issued by your home state if you intend to drive off, or bring a trailer capable of accommodating this vehicle. No exceptions! This is truly one of the rarest E36 M3’s out there, and is undoubtedly one of the purest in its driver involvement. This unmodified car serves as a desirable platform for a race-car buildup or a restoration project with serious potential. Please make sure to ask me for any other views you would like to see before bidding. I was only allowed 24 pics. I will be quick to respond. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!!
