Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro RS. The car runs and drives great. The ENGINE & TRANSMISSION WERE REPLACED at 132,000 miles. The engine and transmission came from a 2000 Trans AM with 45,000 miles on it. The car itself has 169,214 miles on it and only 75,000 on the engine & trans. I have the VIN for that vehicle if you're interested. At the time the engine was replaced, I had the radiator professionally boiled out, and the condenser cleaned. Also, all the "O" rings and seals were replaced in the A/C system to avoid any issues down the road. I am a mechanic, so while we had it, we maintained it well. In the last 10,000 miles, I replaced the front strut mounts, front struts, front springs, rear springs, rear shocks, flushed the transmission fluid, new tires with less them 5,000 miles on them, recent alignment, new map sensor, & IAC motor. The interior is in really great shape, just in need of a good cleaning. There is a crack in the top of the dashboard. The car does need some work. The bottom of the Passenger front fender is broken, but I do have a painted fender to replace it. I just haven't had the time to put it on. Also, the passenger side door has a crack in it, but I do have a replacement door, it just has to be painted. It's currently white. The driver's side rear Quarter panel has a crease in it that’s not that obvious in the pictures. It's not horrible to look at, but is noticeable. The car is pulling a code for an EGR valve, and a small EVAP leak. The EGR valve is brand new, and under warranty; I never got the chance to bring it back for the warranty. The A/C compressor clutch is starting to go bad, it works but makes noise, so, included is a new A/C compressor, accumulator, and orifice tube. The last time I drove it, the A/C worked but the compressor was noisy. The car does have an exhaust leak that needs to be addressed. Also, the heater core is bad. I bought a brand new one and started to take the dash board apart to replace it, but the town wants to ticket me because the car has been sitting on the side of my house all winter. To avoid the fine, the car has to go. The heater core has been bypassed for now, so that the car can be driven. The car needs a little work and comes with a lot of the parts to fix it up, so it's definitely a great deal for someone with some mechanical skill. The car has not been washed or waxed in quite awhile, so it cleans up much better than it looks.
