World's Best1957 T-Bird, rarest of rare E-Code Engine with Dual Carburetor Gorgeous Coral Sand Exterior with White Interior The amazing car that you see before you is a 1957 E-Bird with all the power equipment including automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes. Comes with two tops, hard top & convertible. This car was restored to 99+ point condition several years ago and is still in like condition. The owner purchased this car approximately three years ago at an RM Auction and paid well above the reserve price on this listing. If you are looking for an absolutely fantastic Thunderbird in show condition and to have it topped off with a factory E-Code engine (2 four barrels and the rare original air cleaner) then this could be your car. Thunderbirds with e-code engines come available very seldom, usually or never in this condition. This is for the true Thunderbird connoisseur collector and would be the top 57 T-bird at any show in the country. To put the car in perspective it can be purchased at half of the professional cost of restoration. Normally we prefer to not deal with buyers out of the USA but in this case we know that European buyers are crazy about 57 T-Birds and we will with telephone approval sell to a foreign buyer. 270 bhp, 312 cu. in. V8 engine, dual Holley four-barrel carburetors, automatic transmission, four-wheel hydraulic brakes. Wheelbase: 102" Here was a two-seater American car to rival the best of the European competition at the time. And while Europeans fitted four and six cylinder engines, Ford offered a powerful V8. Originally introduced as a 1955 model, in 1957 the first real changes in appearance took place. A mild facelift up front and stylish rear fins were added, along with a new instrument panel featuring “Lifeguard Design” which included a padded dashboard and dished steering wheel. As well as offering six engine options there were a host of refinements available including power windows and wide whitewall tires. An added leaf to the rear springs, 14-inch wheels and larger front brakes were just some of the many engineering changes. One of the rarest versions of the 21,380 total built in 1957 were the “E” models of which only about 1,500 rolled-off the assembly line for that year. E-Code models featured the optional Thunderbird Super V8 fitted with dual Holley four-barrel carburetors. These Thunderbirds are affectionately known today as “E-Birds”. This fine example of Ford’s highly popular “Little Bird” was an original clean, rust-free California example for fifty years. It underwent a total frame-off restoration that was completed circa 2008 with the speedometer currently showing a mere 25 miles since completion. Painted in its original period Coral Sand, this Thunderbird features a fresh white interior and presents a striking and very attractive appearance. Options on these Little Birds are all important and this Thunderbird comes with power steering, power brakes, two tops and a new set of Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels with wide whitewall tires.
