1953 GMC 5 WINDOW 3100 SERIES 1/2 TON SHORT BED PICKUP TRUCK Up for sale with NO RESERVE is a CLEAN, ORIGINAL, VERY RARE, CALIFORNIA 1953 GMC 5 WINDOW 3100 Series 1/2 Ton Shortbed Pickup Truck. This truck is an original California survivor originally purchased in the Central Valley of California from the town of Modesto and has spent its entire life in the Bay Area of California. A local business purchased and used this truck for advertisement purposes but since plans have changed here it is up for sale with NO RESERVE!!! This truck runs and drives well and features NEW paint, a red interior and black exterior, a NEW plywood bed, NEW headliner panels, NEW door panels, NEW rubber floormat, a Bench Seat out of a late model Chevrolet pickup truck, a NEW battery and NEW driver side window glass and channels as well as a NEW CHROME peep mirror and NEW CHROME air cleaner. The passenger side window comes off the track when rolled halfway down. This truck is equipped with a 6- Cylinder engine and 4 Speed Manual Transmission. The tires are NEWER bias-ply wide whitewalls. The truck was partially restored for advertisement purposes only so an emphasis was not placed on doing a "correct" restoration. The original gauges are not working but all there however there is an aftermarket fuel gauge. I haven't driven this car extensively but when I do it gets excellent mileage and tons of attention. There was no body work done before the paint job resulting in this being more a "10- Footer" driver quality pickup although it does catch everyones eyes as you drive down the road. The headlights work but the brake lights need to have the wires soldered back together. It would be the PERFECT candidate for future business advertisement or even a full restoration based on the rarity of this truck alone. The glass is all original except for the driver side window and the front driver side glass has a small rock chip. All in all this is a wonderful truck for any sort of business be it new or established to brand with their logo and watch the return! People CAN NOT get enough of this truck and it will be a huge edge over the competition. This truck would also make the perfect work or farm truck for the anyone that loves classic trucks.
