Vehicle Detail
For auction on ebay is my 1971 Plymouth GTX. This is a factory U code GTX and not a clone! This car has been a labor of love. I bought this car completely disassembled and in crates and boxes. The car only had the dash and side glass still installed. It was on rolling casters with no front or rear suspension. So as you can see below alot of time has been spent to get the car as you see it now. Most of the parts on the car has been either cleaned/painted, restored or replaced. The paint is new and only 2 months old. It is GY3 Curious Yellow and looks great! Has new hood and rear valance stripes along with the accent pin stripe down the side. New 71 Gull wing spoiler out back with correct underdecklid brackets and hardware. New eyebrow spoilers up front. The tires are brand new and have 5-10 miles on them. Has a nice set of Magnum 500 wheels with new wheel caps and lug nuts. Grille has been cleaned and repainted back to stock. Rear taillights are nice with factory bezels surrounding them. The entire front suspension/shocks have been replaced. All bushings have been replaced along with ball joints and tie rod ends. Has the six pack skid plate on the K frame. The entire braking system has also been replaced with new metal lines along with flex rubber lines. Master cylinder and wheel cylinders were replaced as well and have all new fresh fluid in it. Rear end was cleaned and painted and has an 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 gears. Underside of the car is perfect and has absolutely NO rust on the car. You will not find a more rust free body with all of its original panels still on the car. Even the factory trunk is in perfect shape. Factory undercoat car and has preserved the floors and frame very well. New exhaust all the way out the back with factory machine gun tips. New wheel lip mouldings. All the stainless has been cleaned and polished by hand and is in very nice shape as seen in the pictures below. New interior installed professionally. This is a bucket seat/column shift automatic car. New seat covers, carpet, headliner, package tray and trunk mat/divider. Original door panels are very nice for their age and only have a couple of minor imperfections. Factory radio still in the car. Needs speakers installed. I do have the antenna for the car. Motor is not numbers matching, but is a date correct 71 440 HP that I got with the car. It runs great and has alot of new parts on the motor. It is factory appearing and has no aftermarket speed parts. 727 shifts well and is all stock as well. Drive shaft was speed balanced and both U joints were replaced. Power steering with manual brakes. Brakes are the big 11" brakes. I'm probably leaving out alot of stuff I have done to the car so please email me with any questions. This car has had its first repaint. It was originally gold and now curious yellow. The car was painted throughout including the trunk and engine bay. Motor was removed when the engine bay was painted and looks good. The car has a VERY nice body and was extremely straight when I bought the car and before it was painted. You will not find a more solid GTX out there , especially on no reserve. With only 2211 GTX automatics in 71 produced this is a very low production car and tough to find. Has fender tag, door sticker and all body numbers match. Please look around and see what is out there and you will see what a steal this car is. If you have ever put one completely together like this, then you know the hours involved. I ran out of money redoing this car and now have to sell. The entire car has less than 10 miles driving time on it. My loss is definately your gain!. While the car is very nice it is not perfect. This is a car you can drive and be proud of. The car was meant to be driven and is not a rotisserie restoration. Alot of time however has been put into the car to make it as you see it now. Currently I'm out of work , so its time to sell the toys. The car will be put on a no reserve auction. Please read all details. This will be a real auction, starting at a low price and put on a no reserve. You will have 7 days to preview the car. The car is on a 10 day auction but I will be out of town on 3/24-3/27 so the car cannot be shown these days. Please make sure you have all approvals before bidding and all inspections done prior to auctions end. Each bid will be potentially winning bid, so bid responsibly. Canada and overseas bidders welcome to bid Terms of the auction. Please Read: Buyer to pay non refundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of auctions end. Balance due within 5 business days of end of auction. No exceptions! Buyer responsible for all shipping charges. I will however help load the car on transport truck if needed. Payment to be made using bank wire transfer, bank cashiers check or cash in person. Paypal only for deposit. Car is sold with clean california title in my name. Bidders are welcome/encouraged to view the car prior to auctions end. Out of state/country bidders are welcome/encouraged to hire a 3rd party inspection. However, once auction is over and you are the winning bidder the car will be yours. Again, make arrangements prior to auctions end to view/inspect the car. Car is sold as is, where is. Sale of vehicle is Final! This is a private party sale and the car is sold with no warranties expressed or written. Please make sure you have satisfied your expectations of the car. The car is actively for sale and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason. If you have questions on anything please send me an email for a quick response. I want the vehicle to go to someone who will appreciate the car and be happy. Thank you and good luck! On Mar-25-11 at 19:49:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been asked about the mileage on the GTX and it is 92,356 and yes it is the actual original mileage. It is documented on the title as the actual mileage. Also , I've posted a couple of trunk pictures without the new trunk mat to show the floor. I am currently out of town until sunday morning and I will post an updated picture of the engine when I get back. The 2 pics I showed in the auction are from a couple of weeks back and I have since cleaned the dust off and detailed a few more items. Also most of the underhood items have been replaced including the radiator, distributor , plugs, wires, carburetor, starter, waterpump, engine wiring harness, starter/battery cables, belts/hoses, thermostat, resistor, voltage regulator, starter relay and the wiper motor has been cleaned/painted and the original part number tags have been cleaned painted as well. The wiper arms have new bushings as well. Thanks and good luck!
