1988 FJ-62 Land Cruiser - Rust Free - Perfect Body - Perfect mechanically - Many Non-US options!! 3BT Turbodiesel + H41 Toyota Transmission + Immaculate in the truest sense, Private seller IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL ME: Koby 512-619-5629. Also, please read the questions below from other folks - good additional information. Currently featured as "RIG OF THE MONTH" on the popular Land Cruiser forum IH8MUD.com!! http://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/465664-rotm-1988-bj-62t-aka-zombie-apocalypse-wagon.html I JUST ADDED ALMOST 100 NEW PICTURES OF THE INTERIOR, ENGINE BAY & UNDERCARRIAGE SHOT TODAY!!! SEE FLICKR LINK BELOW. For almost 300 additional pictures and videos please go to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dieselsixty/ I'VE ALSO ADDED A FULL VIDEO OF A COLD START SEQUENCE AND FULL WALK-AROUND THAT IS JUST UNDER 3:00 LONG. http://gallery.me.com/alpinecowboy/100113 This is my fifth Land Cruiser and my third 60-series wagon. By far my favorite and best, it has received a complete physical tear-down and meticulous rebuild & conversion. Literally, the truck has been stripped down to frame and tub and then been completely rebuilt mechanically and cosmetically in every way. Please take a look at the photo album links below. They provide full detailed photographs of the vehicle's complete tear down and rebuild along with more detailed/higher resolution images taken over the past week. This Land Cruiser is in amazing condition and has never been north of Texas. It was born and raised in Florida and has spent it's later years here with me in Austin, TX. These mild climates have given this truck a rare sterile and rust free body - 100% rust free. No kidding. Options wise, it is a mix of the best of the 60 series Land Cruiser. This FJ62 was built in the first quarter of 1988 and so shared many components and options of the previous FJ60's such as manual door locks and manual windows. I have since purchased full door kits (motors, actuators, panels, wiring, links, switches - the works) should someone wish to convert this to a power lock/window wagon - but I preferred to keep it as it was made in this regard. In the cargo area, I have made significant upgrades including full panel storage using the WagonGear panel system (I have the full kit) as well a sliding rear cargo windows. In the US the 60-series never had sliding cargo windows (like the later 80 series did). However in Japan and Australia rear sliders were common. Also common were more interior grab handles for passengers as well as overhead lights and consoles. In all three areas I was able to locate and import the pieces missing. The rear sliders are OEM Toyota from Australia as are all grab-handles and the overhead console. I currently do not have the outside thermostat hooked up in the console as I have not decided if that is the best use for the console or if it would be better as a gauge cluster for the Turbo boost, Pyrometer, etc. I have decided to leave it thus so that I not do work that would not be desired later. All components will be included to allow full discretion on the part of the buyer in this regard. The buyer of this vehicle will be getting a mint and ready to drive Land Cruiser with no known mechanical issues and all maintenance up to date (or completely overhauled - see links) within the past 14,000 miles. I am a stickler for details and this car was my personal pet project. As outlined below in the details of the rebuild, every system of the vehicle was addressed, reconditioned and in many cases upgraded using non-US, hard to find Toyota components. This is also important to point out: only Toyota parts were used on this Cruiser. Again, no aftermarket parts were used in the vehicle, this includes all major mechanical, electrical, chassis, body and drive-train components and systems. Special attention was paid to use "TEQ" (Toyota Original Equipment) so that all systems would be matched in terms of specifications, durability and performance expectations. The only possible exceptions being the speakers, the Turbo system (trust me - you want this), and the pyrometer (again, you want this). A few folks have asked about any and all defects cosmetic or mechanical. First as it relates to mechanical soundness - I feel this is the most rugged and dependable vehicle I've ever owned. I think it could confidently be driven from Austin to the tip of South America and back again without a trip to the mechanic. The interior overall is a 9 out of 10. The headliner is nearly perfect, the dash is perfect, the front seats are comfortable with no rips or tears (although they have been recovered in leather) and the back seat is original with out any tears or stains. As I mention below the carpets themselves are a 7 out of 10 in that they show average wear, have no significant stains but wouldn't be confused with new carpeting. In the rear bench there is a small (less than 1/4") tear in the vinyl - it is not easily visible but is there so I want to mention it. The headliner is nearly perfect in that it has minor wear around the cargo hatch, but very very minor. There are no tears, it is taught and is stain free and honestly as pretty as any I've ever seen. It is photographed in detail on the flickr link. On the front driver seat there is small 3" section of tubing missing from the upholstery, but it is not torn in any way. It is photgraphed and easy to miss if not called out. Immaculately rebuilt and restored. Perfect Diesel conversion. All OEM Original Toyota components throughout.
