Vehicle Detail
Having to part with an old friend. "Roger" and I have been through a lot, but it's time to move on and get a larger car. The truck was my uncle's until 2005. He hardly drove it and garaged it 24x7. I have his original purchase documentation, the original manual and a few repair manuals if the buyer is interested. I don't think you will see a cleaner 1988 pickup. This is an awesome pickup that does show some wear, but I think this would be a great truck for someone with some mechanic know-how who can fix the small things that need adjusted. I am honestly bummed to sell this truck. I will list everything as clearly as possible to make sure the person who gets Roger will be able to enjoy him as much as I have! Roger is a very clean 1988 Toyota Pickup featuring: -4WD (amazing, has saved my butt quite a few times) -Keyless entry (Valet, have original docs and warranty info) -Tinted Windows (have original docs and warranty info) -Automatic transmission w/overdrive & Power button -Cruise control -Power door locks -Power mirrors -Power windows -Upgraded sound system (iPod connection) with two Infinity Reference 4" in the front & two Infinity 6x9's custom installed in the back. Amp was professionally installed, so all you need is the Subwoofer (I am keeping my JL, have to hold on to SOME part of my juvenile-self!) -Newly installed, rebuilt 22-RE engine with only ~5,000 miles -K&N Air Filter (have warranty information) -Z-Barted body (old-school rhino-liner for internal body to stop rust) -Replaced Decals (2006) from James Dean creations. All are perfect condition except hood, but I have replacement decal which I'll include in the sell. -High-quality Michelin tires -Cloth Bucket Seats (still look new somehow, I have no idea how) -Opening rear window to let in the breeze -Power antennae -Power steering I have records of almost all maintenance and receipts for warranties on the air filter, shocks, window tint, keyless entry and a few others. The only documents I didn't keep were pertaining to the old engine (I'll speak to that in a second). The engine that is currently in Roger was JUST installed app. 5,000 miles ago. It's a rebuilt engine professionally installed and I have the work order (see picture). The radiator and cooling fan were also upgraded. Now for the part where I describe the pieces that need adjusting on a 23 year old truck. I believe ALL of these (save the rust) are easily fixable with some know-how, I just don't have the time/money to take care of them: 1. A/C does not blow cold: The compressor runs fine, I believe the system just needs to be recharged. 2. The washer fluid does not spray. When you push the button to spray the windows, the wipers move but no fluid sprays. 3. There are a few rust spots--I have attached pictures. They were present when I got the truck--we used Rust-stop on them and they have not grown the 6 years I've owned it. 4. The 4WD transfer case lever rattles. It's not the case, it's the piece of the lever under the truck that's rattling. Just don't know how to fix but guessing it's easy. 5. The dash lights for the climate control don't light up when the lights are on. I've overcome this by memorizing the controls. 6. Driver's side valence was damaged during a hit & run, but it's not noticeable with new bumper-end (picture included). 7. The arm rest has taken a beating and is the only part of the interior that needs some work 8. After idling for a while, something in engine squeaks, but I believe it's just a belt that needs adjusted I've tried to cover everything, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! I can also send more pictures if you need them. Please remember that the truck is sold AS-IS, and is non-returnable, etc., etc. But I REALLY think you'll fall in love with this truck the second you jump in!
