Vehicle Detail
Relisting this car from last week. I took the opportunity to take it in and have my mechanic give it a full inspection to address any issues so that I can sell in good conscious. We've replaced the front brake pads and the drivebelt, everything else checks out. This is a 1999 Mercedes Benz E300 Turbodiesel sedan, 99k miles, 2nd owner car with no accidents. This was the last year of this venerable turbo charged diesel engine. I've had the car since 65k, the original owner bought, serviced and traded in in Timonium, MD. Since I've had it, I've had it serviced almost exclusively at the Autohaus in Millersville - simply the best M-B shop in this area. I have all service records since my ownership in December of 06. Along with Mercedes standard list of amenities, the car is equipped with power moon roof, electric adjust. seats, mirrors and steering, factory 5-disk cd in trunk, slip control, 4 wheel disk brakes, dual airbags, and ABS. Huge back seat with flip down arm rest and a spacious trunk for any Mafioso. The tires have less than 12k miles on them. Also has a factory engine block heater for cold weather starts. So - to answer a couple of FAQ - Does it have front end trouble? No, I asked the mechanic to specifically check the steering since its been a common question. Good to go. What about the glow plugs? All replaced a few years ago and bedded in anti-seize compound so your mechanic won't have to drill out a seized plug. Service records? I have everything since I've owned it. Body rust? A few small spots limited to the fenders, please see pictures. While very well cared for, it is a 12 year old car. The issues that I know about are a few worn interior vinyl pieces, a small touch up spot near trunk lid (from previous owner) as well as honest wear consistent with its age. There was also a cell phone mounted by the previous owner on the side of console. This car loves road trips and is capable of 30 mpg on the highway. Drives with the performance of a gasoline car with the reliability and thrift of diesel. Blue Book is $11,315 for good condition, NADA $12,450. Its been a really great car for me and I'm sorry to see it go - comfortable, reliable, classy enough for almost any occasion. If you compare mileage and price with anything else on ebay, autotrader, cars dot com, etc. I think you'll find this to be a more than reasonable price. I'm selling due to job change, have already bought next vehicle. Thanks.
