2008 Honda CBR 1000RR 3633 Miles - Excellent Condition Up for bid in this auction is a better than new 2008 Honda CBR 1000RR with only 3633 miles. I bought this bike new in February 2009. It has been ridden about 95% on the street and 5% on the track at Barber Motorsports Park. The bike has never been down and it is cosmetically and mechanically in excellent condition. I am selling because after six years of sport bike street and track riding, I'm done with track days as my 50's are rapidly approaching. Besides, I have a naked Italian bike in the garage that will suit my street riding needs just fine. Of all the sport bikes I have ridden on the street or track (Ducati 999s, R1's, BMW S1000RR, R6's, CBR600RR, GSXR600, Kawi 636) this is the best handling, fastest, and easiest to ride bike of them all - hands down! The bike is paid for - I have the title in hand. If you are looking to buy one of these bikes then you probably already know it was awarded sport bike of the year in 2008 and 2009 in many publications. I made a few changes to enhance the bike's already superb out of the box performance and handling. Enhancements include: Front fork rebuild performed by Race Tech in Corona, CA including gold valves - compression and rebound Rear shock rebuild performed by Race Tech including gold valves, separator valve, and Race Tech spring 58.2 x 152 11.6kg-114N ($1000 for front and rear rebuilds) Yoshimura model 1202205 stainless steel slip-on exhaust system with carbon fiber tip for increased horsepower and great exhaust note ($600) Vortex adjustable rearsets RS269K ($375) Evotech Tail Tidy fender eliminator ($165) Sato engine sliders ($200) Pazzo clutch and brake levers ($180) Double bubble smoke windshield ($100) No cut frame sliders ($100) Other information: The bike currently has Michelin tires mounted: front Pilot One 2CT, rear Power Race Soft. The tires are DOT approved street tires but were mounted for my last track day in September 2010. They still have plenty of life in them since I rode only about 100 miles at the track, and a few hundred miles on the street since then. However, if you prefer I will mount the pictured Michelin Pilot Power 2CT used for about 200 miles on the rear. Either way both rear tires are included in the auction. Also included are the rear passenger pegs that I removed, the stock exhaust, the stock clutch and brake levers, stock windshield, and the stock bodywork removed to install the Tail Tidy fender eliminator. I do not have the stock rearsets - they were returned to the supplier as part of the Vortex rearset purchase.
