Vehicle Detail
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with tons of modifications. The frame and transmission have 188,900 miles. The replaced engine has 110,000 miles. It was put in in December of 2010 by a very well reputed mechanic in Brookfield. Upgrades to the vehicle are as follows. Please note these were all professionally installed. Obviously, the brush guard and tubular side-steps with accessory flood lights were added. I had a 2 inch BDS suspension lift with all new springs and suspension components done all the way around the vehicle. The wheels are Dick Cepek, with new all terrain tires. The wheels and tires gave an additional 2 inches to the lift, totalling 4 inches. The additional ground clearance is only from the tires, which totals only 2 inches. The front end was modified to accomodate for the extra size, and no turning radius was lost. There is a slight rub on the wheel well when backing up with the wheel cranked all the way, this is very minimal and hasn't been enough of an issue to have corrected. It is only rubbing on the thin plastic wheel well, and will eventually wear through and dissipate. No tire damage is occurring, which is why I haven't taken it back to have corrected. The front windows were tinted to match the factory rear. The sound system is definitely premium. I had all new speakers put in. This includes the tweeters mounted in the dash. I chose to keep everything in it's original location so as to not draw attention to the vehicle shouuld anyone happen to be snooping for some free goodies. The new Farenheit head unit was my only regret. I wanted something with a fixed touch screen, fearing that I would break a slide out screen, and being the Jeep only accomodates a single DIN head unit, I didn't have many options. The thing works fine, I just would have preferred to have gone a different route. There is naturally the navigation, full am/fm, I have an Ipod cord plugged into the back of the unit, with the cable coming out from behind the console. There is also the DVD feature, and in addition I added a back-up camera. The amp pushes over 1000 watts of power, with 1 10 inch sub mounted in a custom enclosure that is **bolted to the body of the vehicle** It cannot be removed without dis-assembling the box. I had this done custom so it fits the contour of the rear cargo space without losing access to the spare tire enclosure. There is a safe installed in the rear cargo area as well. It is also bolted from the inside to the metal of the vehicle. This also allows complete access to the spare tire enclosure but does get in the way if a person wanted to lay the rear seats down and have a completely flat surface. It is easily removable. I also had an Avatal remote start system installed. I lost one of the key fobs several months ago, didn't feel like spending 60 bucks to have it replaced. It was by far the most useful accessory I added to this Jeep. It is programmed to run the vehicle for 1/2 hour before it shuts down. The programmer was unable to add some of the features, it wont activate the rear defogger like it should, but if you leave the heat controls on when you shut the car off at night, it will definitely warm it up in the morning. The under body of the car is amazing. Every time a mechanic has had it up on the lift, he has just been amazed at the lack of rust. Aside from the underside lip of 3 doors starting to show some rust, this vehicle is extremely clean. I always get complimented on how nice it looks for it's age. It was a one owner when I purchased it, and very excellently maintained. I have been just as methodical. I take it in like clockwork for oil changes, coolant flushes, transmission flushes, nothing gets neglected. Feel confident that you can pick this thing up, throw some gas in it and move on down the road without a worry. Everything that can go bad has already, and I have spent a small fortune in repairs to make sure it is in top running shape. A couple things to keep in mind should you want to drive this vehicle. With the suspension modifications, it now rides rougher than a stock Jeep would. It isn't near as bad as a Wrangler though. Just be warned it is a rough ride. And it is the 4.7 liter V8. This thing guzzles gas like no other. I average 10mpg city, 17 to 20mpg highway depending on how I drive. And that is why I must sell this vehicle. I recently experienced a change in employment, and a pay cut significant enough to warrant some major financial change. And gas mileage is the only expense I have left to cut down on. I have spent over $8,000 in modifications on this vehicle, and I hate to see all that go down the drain, but it is time to let go. Get in touch, drive it, and take advantage of the deal I am offering. Good luck, hope to hear from you. Everything on the vehicle works. The 4x4 is full time, with a selectable 4 LO. During our recent blizzard I made it in to work, and drove around the city picking up employees that we needed to keep the pharmacy I work for operational for the day. I did not get stuck once. The thing was amazing! All of the electronic components work, displays, lights, everything. Front dual power seats, side-view mirror defrosters, on board computer system, home-link system, EVERYTHING!
